Me and my fiancé received our hard copy NOA2 and are gathering information for the packet 3 before it arrives.

I have read that several people have called the NVC and have been told to wait 3-4 weeks and I have also read that several people got their NVC case number really quick. So apparently everyone’s cases are handled differently, but my question is....on the USCIS website does it keep you up to date about the NVC processing your file on that? (the same website you check the status of your petition).

Will I just have to call the NVC to get my case number instead??

Also, me and my fiancé didn't expect to get approved until mid-late March and were approved last week! Only 73 days after receiving the NOA1! So he is actually still in town visiting me and is leaving on the 17th. I have read that the NVC does some background checks.....so with him being here in the US right now create a delay in that process possibly? (I am only asking this so soon because they processed our petition so quickly...so it seems that things are a much quicker pace so I just wanted to be on top of every thing).

Thanks for everyone's responces and help!

I've been on the states 4 times befor my K1 interview. She (or he...) can travel as long as she follows the rules and do not overstay. I had to move my K1 interview because of my trips and didint have any problem, in fact i think it proves good intentions because i was following the rules.

good luck.

skyparker,

once your petition has been approved by USCIS you have nothing to do with them for the next process. USCIS will not have any info regarding your file since they send it to NVC for next process after approval. NVC will do rest of the paper work for your peition after being approved by USCIS. So, for you to know anything about your file call NVC. They will assigned case number and etc.

I have the same question though, will we need to call the NVC to find out the case number? Or do they mail it to us?

I had to call and talk to a human, you have no choice...when you choose the "k visa" option, an operator will pick up the line...give them USCIS case #, and ask for the NVC case #.

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Only 73 days after receiving the NOA1!

You're lucky! Ours took from July to December, but at least we're making progress!

Our first visit to the Embassy in London in March 2009 went horribly wrong because of missing paperwork. It took a whole year with papers going back and forward from NVQ to USCIS before we got the next appointment. Knightbridge Doctors then said that there were some medical problems to sort out and so we're still waiting. Oh and everything had to be paid again, so we are not happy bunnies!
