Hello there! I'll be taking my NCLEX on March. Just wanna know how you did you found out that your state requires CES?? I applied at Vermont but will be taking my NCLEX at PA. Glas you could help me. Thanks!

NCLEX is not state or country specific.

It is given world wide.

Actually, I'm asking if CES is necessary for the state of Vermont..

Ok.. Thanks! I already had my school filled out the form for the CES and stamped it. All I lack now is the form that the PRC should fill out. Didn't have much time to do it now. Anyways, thanks for the reply..

i suggest that if you have the US nursing license already...just go for it...apply for the job as an RN! no need to do something else for experience blah blah...

the only reason why i am doing this is because my sister did not want me to bum around the house and just study (which is very mean to do) ...she said i needed to get a job not just to earn money...but for the health insurance too and benefits which are important when you live here in the United States...

i work part time only anyway...

Hi Taj

Im currently working in a univerisity here and teaching nursing students. My question is -is it true that if I have teaching experience here -will it be easier for me to teach there also? Me and fiance are just waiting for the mnl case # and after that i will get my medical and interview and im lookingprobably leaving here to join him before end of february-GODWILLING. He lives in florida and I plan to work when i am adjusted na after our wedding na lang when im not stressed out anymore.I know i need to retake my nclex before i can teach..i dont prefer bedside nursing anymore. What about my masteral..will be honor it there?

Thanks and Godbless..

First thing you need to understand about Healthcare in the USA.

It a big racket in order to make money.

They claim there are not enough teachers to teach student so we have a "Nurse Shortage" in USA and have had one for many years, and the 20 years projection is a Nurse Shortage.

Now they have retrogression in place, which has been for the last 2 years, and may/could extend another 5 years where Foreign Trained nurses are not given Work Visas to enter the USA.

So the Medical Industry purposely keeps Nurses in short supply and doctors in short supply in USA in order to charge outrageous cost for Medical Services in USA.

Back to your question about your Master Degree:

My nephew married a Filipina about 8 years ago with a Masters in Business, She now works for the City of Dallas and makes around $60,000 per year. She did a CES and the City OF Dallas accepted her MBA from PI. The City accepted her MBA as equivalent to a MBA from a US School.

Im planning to enroll with the Kaplan University online review course for NCLEX once I get my authorization from the FL Board of Nursing. My nursing papers are still currently being evaluated by the "slowwwwwwwwww" ERES.

Removal of Conditions :

August 16, 2010 - Petition received by USCIS Vermont Center

August 20, 2010 - NOA1 received

October 4, 2010 - Biometrics

January 3, 2011 - Permanent 10 yr. Green Card Received.

I'm planning to take the NCLEX-RN in California. I already submitted my application and pertinent documents for evaluation to the CA BON...still waiting for the result. Hope it will be approved and have the ATT soon. It takes four months to process the application by licensure.

I am using the Saunders 4th ed'n Comprehensive reviewer . I also listen the Fauer (Audio) reviewer.

You are a US citizen & not a dual citizen of the Philippines that's why you're not permitted by Philippine law to take the local exam so that requirement is waived for you but you have to get an official confirmation from PRC to prove that you couldn't sit for the said exam. A letter from the applicant is no longer accepted.

Even as a USC, you will always be classed as foreign trained nurse and should meet you State BON requirements. Hope this helps...

If you are in the US under a green card or have a dual citizenship then you are still a citizen of the Philippines so you have to sit for the exam if your State BON requires it...It is important to know your State Board of Nursing requirements for foreign trained nurse. Here's the list:

Go future RN's!!!

I just got my results for my NCLEX-RN like 2 hrs ago and I PASSED!!!

I'm still trembling...im so happy! I took the exam last Friday (jan 16 here in Indiana)

and i was convinced that i failed it. I was already gearing up for the next exam like

yesterday i started reading Saunder's again!

The exam stopped at 79 questions. I had one computation (to which i gave the

wrong answer since i didn't want to dwell so much on something i didn't know

how to calculate), 3-4 SATA (select all that apply) and 1 drag and drop type

question (it was a procedure that i didn't know of). I honestly thought that

I was guessing most of my answers...which lead me to the conclusion that

i really flunk it!

But i passed!!! So to all those who are going to take it...

HAVE FAITH IN YOURSELF! YOU WILL MAKE IT!

Goodluck to all of you and im sure you all will make it!

Has anyone applied recently to California BON, and did not have a local license from PI.

Did you just submit an explanation to California BON why you haven't taken local license test?

i think it is just the BON in california that requires some sort of explanation why you didnt take the local nursing board in the philippines. i didnt bother to take it because i am not filipino, not dual citizenship, just plain and simple american who grew up and studied in the philippines, paid my visa fees at the immigration for overstaying or whatever each corrupt person said at the immigration in the airport. i dont even have a filipino passport. but i double checked...i live in massachusettes...i dont think i need to explain why i did not take the local boards in the philippines. and even if i wanted to, i could not because I AM NOT FILIPINO
