Hey its good to know that I'm not the only one here taking this blast3d exam . I am doing self-review & uses Saunder's 4th edition + CD. Here are some tips.

1) Send your NCLEX application ONLY if you're 100% sure that you are ready to take it. Postponement/cancellation fee is expensive & it's best if you pass it in the first try.

2) It is better to stick with 1 book or study option because it gets confusing.

hi everyone, i am a USC and i went to nursing school in the philippines...after i graduated i took the kaplan review for 3 months then i came to the united states...been working as a nursing assistant for about 6 months now...i have just been reading my kaplan books again and again, i also use the green book of saunders, the Q & A, esp the cd because it has a lotf of questions and i do alot of questions...i will apply in march and schedule my exam in may! good luck to us! i have to go through the CES in CGFNS though first which will take a couple of weeks...do you have to do the toefl? i mean we were taught in english and our books were in english, i already told my school to prepapre a letter stating our medium of instruction is english...what about you guys?

hello! same here i am planning to take NCLEX too,..i already submitted my application to Vermont State., hopefully i will get my eligibility soon,.i had my review last October and right now im studying here at home..my fiance recommends NCLEX 3500.. i make it a point that i should have atleast 100 questions per day..he also gave me the KAPLAN book and the Kaplan Medication Cards. I also read Saunders, nice but its soo thick..

Dylan and Douglas...does vermont have to go though the CES in CGFNS? credentials eveluation service? how long did that take you and did you have to take the TOEFL? yes sometimes i do nclex 3500, downloaded that from the net for free... but focusing on finishing the saunders Q & A book...and cd...i have my kaplan course book for reference and reading material...

You need to check with your state BON and see if they require CES.

If not don't, then don't worry bout it.

If you plan on moving or transfer you licesnse to another state in USA, it might be wise to do CES from CGNFS cuz if a state (where you plan to work) in the future needs it to transfer a license there, then you have it done.

It all depends on your the state BON where you plan to work, and what requirement they need for Foreign Trained Nurses......

i already checked...massachusetts needs CES...and a toefl if your medium of instruction in nursing school was not english...i will call them to ask what type of requirements i need to show to show proof that in nursing school in the philippines, we were taught in english...im super busy thats why, i work 32-40 hours each week...i study for my nclex and i had to get everything done for my husband's I 130...its stressful

tallcoolone...i just read your post in the other forum! you just answered my questions there! hahahahaha...oh im so happy to hear that i dont have to take the toefl...here in massachusetts toefl is required if in nursing school english was not used as a medium of instruction...what did she have to show from her school that they taught in english? a notarized letter? and im so happy to hear that it only took a month for cgfns to do her ces...

i studied the same material as her...kaplan and saunders...want to do more questions in kaplan though, maybe i will sign up for the q bank...THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE INFO AND I WISH YOUR WIFE THE BEST...i know shes going to pass...pinoys i think are the best foreign nurses...im glad i went to school in the philippines for nursing even though i am a USC...i wouldnt have met my husband if i went to school in the US...

I believe part of the CES sent to CGNFS there was a question which asked what language the textbooks were in.

I had my CES - Full Education Course Evaluation and its written in the evaluation that the language of instruction used in my school is in ENglish so Toefl is not really needed anymore though I took the IELTS too so I can file for my visascreen but seems useless now coz of the retrogression. So you dont really need to take the TOEFL. I got my eligibility maybe a week after the Massachusetts board of nursing got my CES report from CGFNS.

I didnt go to any review center. Try kaplan trainer CD reviewer. It really helped me alot because of the questions mostly given in NCLEX-RN are prioritization, delegation, and medications.

hi john...i live in jamaica plain...its within the boston area...i work at hebrew rehabilitation center as a nursing assistant II in the medical acute care floor, they pay me well but not as much as an RN)...because i told them i have a bachelors degree in nursing and i plan to take my exam soon...i graduated last 2008 and i'm going to apply in march for the CES CGFNS in march too and im planning to take the nclex in may...i was worried the CES would take long because after i take my nclex i plan to go to the philippines to see my son and husband to visit...

do you live in the united states? or is your spouse/fiance from the UNited states? K-1? CR-1?
