Who chooses the point of entry? Are we told whre she must enter? Or do I choose that? I live in NE Tennessee, far from any international airport. Can she arrive at point of entry without me meeting her there, and fly on a domestic flight from there to close to whre I live?

12/04 met online

04/05 met in Hong Kong (2 weeks)

09/05 petition sent I-129 via lawyer (what a rip that was)

04/06 trip to Shenzhen, gave her diamond (to small boooo)

11/06 interview

11/06 DENIED "not a bonafide relationship"

02/07 married in Hong Kong & Shenzhen sightsee (1 month stay)

11/07 I-130 sent in

01/08 NOA-1

04/08 I-129F sent

05/08 NOA-1

11/08 sent letter to cancel OLD I-129F (2005) petition so no problems

11/18 received confirmation (email) letter received (VSC working on the old I-129F) quickest response ever from any governmnet agency !!!!!!!!!!!!

11/08 13 letters sent to Senate Judiciary Subcomittee Immigration

11/25 mailed me for more evidence, don't understand this delay new

I-129F (05/08)

11/29/08 received request for more evidence.......I forgot to check "NO' for domestic violence, homicide, manslaughter etc etc,

how stupid of me gezzzzzzzzzzz someone KICK ME please.

Also received action to the old WAC petition I-129F to reopen to withdraw petition.

12/01/08 I checked the "NO" box and sent in to VSC.

12/02/08 requested expedite services (need life saving operation)

12/06/08 received email new I-129F back in process mode

12/19/08 denial to expedite petition (unbelievable)

12/30/08 USCIS sending why the denial old I-129F (cant wait to get that response)

01/03/09 Finally received both NOA-2's today, my heart cant take it.

01/09/09 Received 1st letter from NVC for $70.00......no no no I want to process the I-129F. Got my birthdate wrong, have to fix that.

03/24/09 Interview........DENIED HK

yes she can, the only thing u would worry about is the lay over time cz sometimes the procedure at the port of entry could take some time , so to be safe she will need a 3 to 4 hours lay over depending on the airport and the time of arrival, wish her a safe trip:)

it depends on which airline ticket u'll buy for her. It could be any international Airport.

To answer your question, YOU choose the Port of Entry (rather than point). You buy the cheapest plane ticket you can, and wherever that enters the U.S., that's her POE.

You could meet her at the POE airport, wherever that may be, but you won't be able to help her get through immigrations or customs anyway unless you're traveling with her. There is something to be said for saving the money and meeting her at your local airport. Millions have done it already, I'm sure she'll be fine.

You know, that's a good point. Make sure you buy a ticket that gives a good amount of time to catch that connecting domestic flight, just in case immigration/customs takes longer than expected. In our case, I bought tickets with a 4 hour layover in Chicago, which we didn't wind up needing, as we flew through immigration and customs (only thing that's been easy about the process so far). But you can't count on that. Good point.

On Edit: I just noticed my pun about "flying" through customs. I really didn't mean to write it that way.

Charlotte NC is an international aiport. Try making that her POE. You can easily meet her there.

That's a good idea, but I seriously doubt there are any direct flights from Asia to Charlotte, at least not at a reasonable price. Atlanta is probably the closest I can think of off the top of my head.

That's a good idea, but I seriously doubt there are any direct flights from Asia to Charlotte, at least not at a reasonable price. Atlanta is probably the closest I can think of off the top of my head.

True, Charlotte has limited services overseas. But I used it to Manila and return with a transfer to Philippine Air in San Francisco. The immigration stuff was handled nicely in Charlotte on return.

You choose. From Manila, usually the POE would be SFO, LAX or ORD. Make sure she has at least three hours between flights at the POE.
