2 silly questions...

Ok, you guys are so nice on these boards I have a couple questions.

My contract with my current employer ends in Jan 2010. While I could break my contract and move sooner, my boss is super cool and wants to work out a deal where I can work part time for her after I move, so I don't want to upset her. So my question is: When should we sent in our I-129F? Should we wait a while just in case our application goes super speedy?

Second question. I'm a little overweight, and I'm working on it, I have big motivation now since I'm going to be a bride, but will a couple extra pounds affect my medical result?

To answer your first question, you can't move and keep working. Once you are no longer a resident of Canada, and in the US, you are no longer authorized to work from my understanding.... someone can correct me if I'm wrong... so you're best best is to wait a bit to file... I wouldn't necessarily wait too long because the whole process takes around 8-9 months these days and then you have 6 months to move, there you have time to wait out your contract.

In terms of the medical, they are looking for infectious diseases and that sort of thing, they are not concerned with your weight at all, so don't stress about that!

I read somewhere that I can still keep working as long as it's with a Canadian company. I'd have to look into it further.

I'm sure that someone will come along and answer your work question. I think it might be different if you're working for a Canadian company but I could be wrong!

The medical is honestly one of the easiest parts of the whole process. I'm overweight and I got through my medical just fine. They took my weight but it didn't matter to the results. Good luck!
