Hey Harsh...welcome back! I hope your grandfather gets well soon, please keep us posted! As far as the DS-230 we put NONE where it says spouses name and then N/A under address, DOB, occupation of spouse and date of marriage

which is making me angry cause our noa2 expires April 9th.

I think the expiration is 4 months from the NOA2 date so your petition shouldn't expire until May 9th?? At least I hope it's 4 months or I'm in trouble since my NOA2 date is Dec 17th!

My fiance Sam is being silly. He is upset that he checked all the boxes on the checklist even though some didn't apply to our situation. I told him its just an acknowledgment that you read and understand what is required of you and now he thinks that they will think he's been married before when he hasn't been, ugh. lol.

I am in Delhi right now in my fiancee's place. I was wondering if it would be worth going to the embassy today or tomorrow and picking up Packet 4? Do they allow that now? What time I need to be at the embassy? Please advise. I am leaving to the downtown side in an hour. Thanks.

P.S.

I also called the embassy just a littlebefore 12, However, couldnt ask them the above question. They told me that our packet has reached there on the 6th. The dates for March might be posted in a couple of days. They asked me to check back in the first week of March - this tells me that I might not have an interview in March and it will be in April...Arggh...what's is this? Is there still a chance for us to get an interview in March??

Yeah it seems like anyone with Packet 3 in early Feb will probably end up with April date. They told my fiance to call in 1st or 2nd week of March as well. And I doubt that they will schedule a March interview if they are sending packet 4's in March itself. Oh well just hoping it is in the first week of April at this point. Good to know they will have the schedule up in a couple of days. Atleast that will confirm that our dates aren't March (and hence most likely April for sure).

Well Sam called the embassy today and they picked up lol.

Karri: Can I have the phone number that Sam used to call the Embassy. I'm going to have my fiance call them tomorrow morning.

I called DOS today and asked if they had scheduled an Interview and the lady told me that they hadn't scheduled the interview because "they were waiting for the physical petition to reach the Embassay." I told her that we had already received and sent back Packet 3, and she said "yes, I see that. NVC sends an electronic copy of the petition to the Embassy so they will send out Packet 3 when they get that...but they won't schedule the actual interview until they physically receive the case file." I also told her that NVC cleared it in Dec, and she said "yup...Dec 19th they forwarded it!"

okay...so what does this mean? I did the whole DHL tracking thing and there was one petition sent to Delhi on the 19th, which I would assume was mine...and it said it reached the Embassy on like the 21st or 22nd (can't exactly remember). Do you think because Delhi takes so long to enter things into their system that they actually have the file, just haven't entered it yet so DOS can't see it in their system???

Thoughts?

9/15/2008 – check cashed

9/19/2008 –Received NOA1

12/28/2008 – Received NOA2 Approval email from CRIS

01/06/2009 – Left NVC for Mumbai Consulate

01/07/2009 – Received NVC confirmation letter in the mail

01/08/2009 – Mumbai Consulate received file electronically and sent packet 3 (info from DOS)

01/10/2009 – Mumbai Consulate received file (hard copy) from NVC (DHL tracking)

01/19/2009 – Overnighted packet 3 (still did not receive receive pkt 3 from Mumbai)

01/20/2009 – Packet 3 arrives at Mumbai Consulate

01/23/2009 – called DOS and was informed that packet 4 has been sent and interview date set.

01/24/2009 – Received hard copy of packet 3 (postmark Jan 20). Too late. Already sent packet 3 on Jan 19.

Just getting back. Had an opportunity to visit Delhi embassy. They did tell me that the interview would be in the 2nd or 3rd week of march. Dates were not finalized. I would say decent help in person. They also confirmed that march dates were not posted due to some issue. Called DOS today and they said interview is on 31st. I am waiting to confirm since I had called from a airport and it wasn't too clear. Pls check for your dates as well.

FYI ... Guys Interview date for delhi is fixed , We called DOS today and got our interniew date . One month from today 03-23-2009 . :star:

So I just called DoS and they said if I was aware that they had setup an interview for next month. And I said no. They said it had been scheduled for March 24. Wow that is pretty cool. Kinda weird that they would keep stringing us along and schedule them for next month anyways. Don't we need the Packet 4's for medical? Oh well I am just happy i get to see my fiancee sooner since I will go for the interview.

I think it's great that we all got our interview dates!!! I have to say though, even though I knew it was coming and thought we were so organized I now feel like I have no clue what to do! I told my fiance to call one of the Dr's listed for the medical and find out if he has to have the Interview letter before scheduling his medical appointment.

Karri: That's the same interview date as ours so if Sam needs some moral support we'll be there :) Ours is at 11:15...

Congratulations ppl!!

Anybody going to the Delhi Consulate for interview, try the doctor in Bhikaji Cama Place since its not a big hospital they will schedule it for a early date and give the report in 2-3 days. Also its an elderly couple, both doctors. It was a pretty pleasant and hassle free experience for me and a few others I know of.
