The advocates for legalizing all these Illegals would love to see USA turn into the very countries these illegals are fleeing, before long border states will be like the 3rd world nations illegals are fleeing from, then it will spread. Watch out Canada.,

Sure, try to deport or jail 11 million undocumented immigrants. Good luck!

I'm from Texas, and my ex-husband's family had a farm. They had undocumented workers. They were reliable and available, and they couldn't find anything else. The workers came to earn money during season, went home to their families in the off season, and stop coming when they earned enough to make their new life back home.

One of the very few things I agreed with Bush on was the need for a migrant worker program. The nation's ag business relies on illegals because, frankly, Americans have turned away from the back-breaking labor it requires. Other industries suffer the same, like those landscaping companies, roofing companies, etc that seem to have so many illegals working for them.

Those of you arguing so intensely against these immigrants, while not going through the "proper channels," seem to forget how unforgiving our country is with regards to uneducated immigrants. If you've got a MA/PHD etc, you've got an in. If not, go away. Our government and so many of our people overlook the valuable services these illegals are providing in our economy. We should provide a legal method for these folks to work here -- that would allow us to actually look for the real problems at our border (the people trying to come here to cause trouble).

Could we keep these people out and survive? Well, sure... if we reduced the need for it. Our entire education system is set up to have our children succeed for college, which we all know they won't all attend. If we'd return technical training to our middle and high schools, we'd probably be able to hire a legitimate handyman like someone here suggested. We'd also get a nice decrease in the crime rate as fewer kids felt school was a dead-end and instead training them to do something they can actually achieve.

Good on ye, you may be surprised but I agree with most of your points. A migrant worker plan is a Great IDEA. provind that the migrant workers are brought in legally Not giivng those who broke the law to come here , an automatic free ride, adopt a migrant program for those who are willing to go through the process legally, those who legally apply can & should work. employers who hire workers who are not legally applicants of a giovt. sponsored program should be heaviliy prosecuted. Those who support a LEGAL migrant worker program should be applauded and supported.

Sure, try to deport or jail 11 million undocumented immigrants. Good luck!

....... They had undocumented workers. They were reliable and available, and they couldn't find anything else. The workers came to earn money during season, went home to their families in the off season, and stop coming when they earned enough to make their new life back home.

the problem is most of the illegal Immigrants Invading our nation do not return home, why should they when they get everythng handed to them, are immune from local state law enforcement, do not have to pay tax on thier earnings, get free health care, free education.. ect.. majority do NOT return home, they have babies they can't afford and then become more reliant on govt. subsidized programs. so In effect the legal tax payers are paying for their illegal free ride.

Those of you arguing so intensely against these immigrants, while not going through the "proper channels," seem to forget how unforgiving our country is with regards to uneducated immigrants. The so called "valuable services" they provide are nothing in comparison to the Billions of $'s each year they cost our country. not to mention the threat they place on our national security. The drain on Govt. resources is 10- 20X the benefit they bring in.. which can be provided by legal USA residents. Our Govt. has failed to tap into or subsidize resources within our own borders that need they work and can provide the same if not better service to the nation with out breaking the law, or defrauding social security or the tax system & will not be sending the money they illegally earn to another country where it does no good for the USA.

Also by granting visas to those who are educated our Govt. is investing in our future, investing in our economy, also ensuring that those coming in do not become a drain on resources but instead build value into our prosparity as a nation with laws & rules.

Aubrey,

Don't even try to reason with the "Goodvibes" (honestly don't see any though) seems his/her goodvibes are non-existent

Your point? so if i don't agree with those who advocate illegals then there is no sense trying to "reason " with me, so reasoning with you would be to agree with your advocacy for illegal criminals. or agree with what you say to be accurate or true or a better idea?? For you maybe I disagree and I am sure as i have reasons for my opinions you do as well, really all this is, is a debate. it is not my fault if my opinion orstance on Illegal immigration offends you. If it does offend you then it seems as though you have more pressing problems than the debate in this forum.

come on now that is what a debate is about, expressing opinions or ideas we feel strongly about no need to personally attack people here, you are desperate as you are being backed into a corner and can't not debate logically without making personal attacks.

You are excused!

BTW "Goodvibes" is my given family name I do not take kindly in you personally attacking my given family name.

There's nothing to fix. Let them in.

I have traveled to over 18 different countries & I have lived in a foriegn country for over 5 years, I am a college educated working tax paying professional. Who proudly supports my LEGAL immigrant spouse.

Obviously you are far to immature or sensitive to reasonably debate. You terminated your own ability to debate or make a valid point. your replies are desperate and demonstrate your lack of understanding. I have made my point and rest your case.

Good concept but won't work, we need to cut off handouts and social services to illegals, combination of deterant enfrocement STRICT Prosecution and taking away non emergency subsidized services ( school, health care, housing, food ect..) then they will save us $ and self deport.

That's it - fear of becoming a nation of brown people if formed a union like the European Union. There's no logic, just deep seeded fear.

When a large poor country (say Turkey or the Ukraine) is allowed to join the European Union, we'll talk.

They still get over the fence. Land mines and machine gun placements every hundred yards or so will take care of anyone who makes it over the fence. Problem solved.

A pre-emptive strike into the poorest villages in Mexico would be a lot more precise, less mess on our land and would send a message to countries around the world that we really don't care what they think about our human rights violations.

Apparently not.

Turkey's chances of EU membership are in doubt

"... getting Turkey into the EU would be "very difficult " ... many in Europe see the 70 million-strong,

mainly Muslim nation as "culturally different".

EU 'not ready' to invite Ukraine to join the bloc

of about 47 million, would hamper the bloc's effectiveness."

Ok, so Turkey is too culturally different and Ukraine's too big. Mexico is right next door, full of people who are already used to being exploited. You know that Corporate America would want this.
