It seems most of you are missing Wally's point. He's not saying that drinking alcohol is better than eating or that being overweight is bad in of itself.

He's saying that if you're overweight and you're fine with it, then that's okay. If you're overweight and wish to do something about it (i.e. diet, exercise, etc), than that's just as cool.

His main issue is when someone is overweight and does nothing more than complain about their situation (often blaming it on external factors).

There are a lot of fat people out there and their numbers (and waistlines) are growing. The fat and other people's reaction leave some deep emotional scars on people so they lash out when they feel they've been singled out for ridicule for a difficult condition for many to overcome but . . .

Uncle Wally tells it like it is which is refreshing on this forum especially when he gave concrete examples to support his beliefs and pointed out his own flaws. I'm highly overweight according to my BMI but do run on a treadmill and know that I put in my stomach won't go away easily. I don't blame others for what I did to myself.

I would think that most MRI machines do fit most people (or rather the people fit them). Failure to make it so would be a marketing disaster. It was nice that the intern went that extra mile to find a machine that would accommodate her bulk rather than just say "Nope, can't help you" and point to the door. JMHO.
