Sick bastards!!! I hope they suffer. Putting them in prison will be easy for them, compared to what happened to that poor innocent baby. Hope whoever they meet in prison gives them a daily beating too!

Although if they tear eachother apart in the warehouse, that's fine with me also.

The problem with that is that isn't always the worst of the worst who got caught up in it.

Its entirely possible to be jailed for something relatively innoccuous and be subjected to a world that most people here can't even conceive of.

I see what you are saying, but still no sympathy here for inmates.....Sorry, must be a Texan thing. I hear our warehouses are the worst in the nation......

I dunno man - it doesn't seem to me that the hardened cons are the ones who end up on the receiving end of this stuff. Poor old Uncle Leo - in prison for tax evasion is more likely to find himself sexually assaulted, or beaten to within an inch of his life than the hardened cons who perpetrate the worst crimes.

I don't know about you - but I find stuff like this very hard to justify. Its easy to be gung-ho about justice - until you are on the wrong side of it.

Then the answer is clear-stay on the right side of it.

P.S I'm not a man. :)

Again - its easier said than done though isn't it.

Presumably you've never been on the wrong side of the law, and can't conceive that its possible to get into trouble through little or no fault of your own - so why even consider the possibility, right?

I have come to the conclusion that the need to talk about 'stringing' up the perpetrators is nothing more than a desire to distance themselves from people who are capable of these types of crimes, as if there is some risk that they might be tempted to do something similar, or become tainted in some way by showing any form of compassion and humanity for the perpetrators. I also think it portrays the inability of some to distinguish between acceptable punishment and brutality and what separates humanity from bestiality.

I guess god created man to judge other men, find them wanting and punish them in as cruel and unusual a way as possible.

That being said, that child was treated horribly and it makes one wonder if the couple lived in a vacuum. Didn't anyone else notice how they were treating that child?

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

GREAT question sister. Makes this point valid: some people should not be allowed to reproduce. End of story.

I think it's because it's a child. That's is personal for most people. It's painful to think of a child being tortured because children are the last bastion of humanity. They are all that is good about human. To defile a child is to challenge all that is good about humanity. Think about prisons where they actually have to separate child molesters from the general population because their crime is considered most heinous by a group of their own peers. Murders look down on child molesters!

Agreed. Being female and a mom my first thought was what that baby must have thought, what she must have feared looking at her mom - either doing these things to her, or not protecting her.

I couldn't help but to think of my own kids... and the anger and rage that boils up in me toward those two people is immeasurable. They repeated hurt that child for what? Sport?

That is a special kind of evil that deserves a special kind of punishment.

The easy solution is "prison without parole" and put the offenders in with the "general population." Believe it or not, the rank-and-file criminal tends hate "child killers." So anyone who's killed a child (especially a baby and in this manner) wouldn't last long. If anything, it's the best of both worlds -- punishing those responsible for their crime with a prison sentence and allowing the other criminals to kill them. It's the death penalty without the expense! :D

I think that's astoundingly and astonishingly stupid. Allowing inmates to meet out punishment on each other, knowingly and willingly? I guess prisons are places where we just dump people and let them get on with it only requiring prison guards to patrol the perimeter and dump some basic supplies through a hatch from time to time.

Then what punishment is fitting for the couple in this thread?

People have said "oh no" to the death penalty because "that's barbaric and we are more evolved than that".

Now it's "oh no" to prison 'coz the inmates will attack them.

What's the answer?

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!

Believe what you will, but prisoners do this to each other. It's hardly uncommon. Whether or not the prison staff openly allow it is something else entirely. Even if they don't allow it, these things occur -- in addition to inmate-upon-inmate sexual abuse, beatings, gang rivalries, etc.

They do allow it. There is a notorious gang subculture in prisons - to the extent that if a fight breaks out that the corrections staff have people line up by race.

I don't think anyone is disputing that they deserve to be punished....

The prisions in Calif, and probably all of them...you have to seperate the Krips from the Bloods, the Mexican Mafia, the Aryian Brotherhood, and the child molesters, and the gays, or else they will all kill each other. When I am elected Governor, I will instruct the staff to put them all in the yard at the same time, and all the guards go on break.

I need your votes!!!!

I finally got rid of the never ending money drain. I called the plumber, and got the problem fixed. I wish her the best.
