:help:Yeah, it says "F" for Female. DAH!! Everything else on the card is correct.....

Has this happened to anyone else? Can he start looking for jobs or do we have to wait until we get this straightened out?

Can't call the USCIS until Monday morning.....won't that be fun.....????? :huh:

Does he have SSN?

I called SS today and I got very negative information - she said it would take about 6 weeks or more to get my SSN - gee, and now the big question is if future employer can hire me while I am waiting for it - there were many questions abot that on this forum - I found info of SS website that it is possible - but how is it really in practice - I don't know, I am gonna find out when I will ask my future employer.

I hope you can straightened out this thing on card quickly.

I doubt you'll have any problems using the card for employment. It it were the wrong gender on the GC, I'd be worried, but for EAD, I don't think people would scrutinize it that much.

From a personal example, when I brought my GC to my HR manager, she said "I thought you already gave it to me. What was that other card that you showed me?" So she did not actually realize that EAD was not the greeen card. Go figure.

Still, making an infopass appointment is a good idea.

09-02-2005 Applications for AOS, EAD, and AP received by MSC

10-21-2005 AOS fingerprint notice for 12-08-2005

11-07-2005 AP approved

12-05-2005 Infopass appt at San Jose office for interim EAD -- Refused, because it is already approved by MSC on 11-07-2005

12-07-2005 Attempt at interim EAD at San Francisco office -- no go. Back to San Jose, where CSO (chief station officer) tells they will contact MSC via email to request permission to issue interim EAD

12-08-2005 Biometrics for AOS and EAD. Having no EAD appt letter was no problem (used EAD NOA)

12-15-2005 EAD arrived in the mail

12-24-2005 Received interview letter; interview scheduled 03-01-2006

01-28-2006 Received replacement SSN card in married name (5 wks since application)

03-01-2006 AOS interview -- approved; received stamp in the passport

03-13-2006 Green card arrived in the mail

Yes, he has his SS card. We got that back in March....

I'm gonna try in the phone on Monday and have a Tuesday Infopass appointment -- just in case I need it. I am just hoping we don't get the card taken away and enter into "Immigration H@$*" I know with the GC it is a big deal.....hoping we don't have those kind of problems now.

I did get through to USCIS this morning......looks like we have to refile the complete application -- just like we are starting over from the beginning. :(

I am going to still keep my InfoPass appointment for tomorrow.....just because I don't trust the "phone people." They read off scripts and anytime I tried to ask a question that he didn't have a script for he reverted back to his "courtesy" answer of -- "Sorry ma'am, you must refile."

Mindy, that just doesnt seem right. I would still keep the infopass, becuz when we went in for our infopass, they issued Lake a card right then and there within 10 minutes, after taking his pic and fingerprints. (It was over the 90 day mark). MOST, and I say most...becuz not ALL do it..offices can do them right then and there if they have a mind to. So it should be an easy fix...now the GC, yea, thats a pain and a nightmare from what I hear.

Timeline

May 15th Lake arrived NYC on tourist visa

6-15-05 Flew NCY to "fetch" Lake for visit here

8-17-05 He Proposed!

8-24-05 MARRIED!

9- 1-05 - SENT AOS, EAD, AP, & ETC

9-12-05 NOA1 - FOR I-130, I-145, & AP, EAD

10-5-05 RFE for Birth C. & medical

10-24-05 GOT LEARNERS PERMIT

11-3-05 DRIVERS LICENSE :)

11-16-05 overnited RFE

11-17-05 Rcvd NOA2 for EAD, bio set for 12-5-05

That's what I am hoping so we are going to keep the appointment.

I wouldn't worry about it... if you send it back it could take much much to long to fix... I would just use the card..

I HAVE thought about that....I am just worried that it will effect our case later on if we don't get it fixed now. I have heard that a mistake like this on a GC is much worse.

That's why I was hoping I could find someone who has had a similar problem with the EAD......

That's why I was hoping I could find someone who has had a similar problem with the EAD......

it's a service error... I don't think it would have any bearing on your case, but I would alert the USCIS adjudicator about it when the interview comes so he can check the database to make sure it isn't a permanent thing and therefore, would show up on the GC as well.

Seriously, though, I can't see this being a big issue. Once you get the green card, the EAD is no longer required. Cancel the Infopass appointment and play dumb if asked about it.

And I like Zyggy's suggestion. Get it checked out at your interview. Tell them that you just noticed while putting your interview stuff together.

I started another thread for this but....we did go to the InfoPass and got a temporary EAD that is good for 90 days. They had us (before the temp card was issued) mail the card back to USCIS with only a new I-765 and the "card" the EAD came with. They told us the new card should be reissued in about two weeks.

If asked, he can always say that he thought the "F" stood for "Frequently" !! :lol::lol:

Wish I would have thought of that sooner :lol: :lol: :lol:
