It's 11 pm here and all is well. Three days with no news from Waleed until late tonight. I'm tired and busy with school and I tried to sleep but without a sleep aid it just doesn't come when I need it. Waleed had taken his break which he still gets regularly scheduled here and there if they don't squeeze his time out of him. He went back to base. He doesn't know what it going on yet since the cease fire is happening. I guess he is awaiting orders. We got cut off so I am waiting to hear more from him again soon. I am really missing him and I hope he doesn't have to to go but I know Egypt in the last few weeks is be repremanded for not doing more to help with the humanitarian situation...i.e...like letting all Doctors and humanitarian aid in that is waiting at the border in Rafah on the Egypt side.

I had read there was a fragile cease fire for 10 days where Israel was pulling out of Gaza. I don't know if they are completely out though because they are still claiming there are hundreds more smuggling tunnels between the Egypt boarder. Hamas as you've seen in the headlines vows to continue to fighting and if Israel leaves comepletely that mean more rockets being launched at them, it's just a matter of time for rearming. Egypt is supposed to be working on a "truce" for now. There were three different Arab country conferences regarding the situation so the Arab's can't even get together all at once and talk on the situation and come to some formal concensus. Europe is involved by way of France and Germany negotiating on the cease fire as well. There were reports that Obama's first call the week before taking office was to Palestinian leaders and not Hamas which ticked off Iran because they back Hamas and some newspapers report that this is really an indirect war with Iran which the power transition model supports. Anyways...the war in gaza is between the moderates and the radicals and we all know how it goes over and over. Back to the cease fire, it's temporary and hoping to be long term like getting back to the last 6 months cease fire they just had. I don't think that it was coincidence that Israel pulled out before Obama was sworn in or that they planned their attacks when they did. What frightened me though was the potential for escalation in the region from Lebanon and Syria militants who are also reported to be backed by Iran...

I am too allousa! I talked to him this morning. So far there is no orders to move anyone now but that doesn't mean it won't still happen. My guess is the current cease fire and ongoing negotiations are stalling things from happening until finalization. He and the other Doctors are on a list of volunteers though if need be when it does comes time. I am just glad he is safe for now and there is a lull. Just three months and one week till his release. Thx goodness school is keeping me busy from worrying all the time about it.

I think all the prayers may have worked because he is safe for now, but it has started again recently.
