Hello everyone,

I am new to this website.

I got an email from USCIS yesterday, telling me my petition for the K-1 got approved.

I don't know what to do next.

Also, does anyone have an idea of how long it would take from now for me to get my visa and be able to get married?

Third question, does anyone know if I could still get out of the USA once married?

Thank you so much for your help!

Congratulations on the approval.

Unsure how long it takes for interview date from Belgium, perhaps someone else can help with that. Although most Embassy's in EU countries tend to be quite speedy and interview within 2months from receiving the file. You may have a better idea of timeframe when your file has left NVC and is on its way to the Embassy as sometimes that process can take time.

For travelling outside the US once married, when you file AOS you can also complete a I-131 Application for Travel, without this being authorised i think it is not possible.

Thanks for your early reply.

So now USCIS is going to send my file to the Belgian Embassy? Or do I need to file more paperwork before?

Is my fiance going to receive something? Or am I ?

So sorry but what is NVC? I am SO confused!

Thank you for your time!

1.Your fiance will get NOA2 hard copy at home.

2.Your approved will send to NVC and you might have to wait about 1 or 2 weeks to get the Case Number,

3 After that the NVC will send your case to Belgium embassy then the Belgium Emabassy will send you the Package 3. to your home town and you have to check the list in package3 and send all documents back to your embassy.

4.Then you have to wait again to get Package4. is mean you will get the date to interview.

Good Luck to both of U :):)

Something still isn't clear though, I am so sorry.

Number 2 ?

We have to send the letter of approval to NVC?Or does USCIS do that? And what is NVC?

The case number will be sent to my fiance in the US or to me in Belgium?

Sorry for having so many questions!

Again, thanks for your time!

NOA2 means Notice of Approval 2, your approval, which arrives in the mail at your fiance's address in USA. Meanwhile, your file gets transfered from California to NVC (which is National Visa Center, also in USA).

NVC send your file to Belgium Embassy;

Belgium Embassy send you a packet (packet3) that you have to fill out, do whatever the instructions say, and send it back.

After Belgium Embassy receives it, you either call to schedule an interview, or you receive packet 4 which tells you the date of your interview.

Good luck!!

Study this, it will make you understand how it works.

Thank you, this helps a lot.

Do you know what documents I will need to send the embassy?

I am sorry I have so many questions, but it's a little complicated for me to gather documents because I am out of Belgium full-time, so I'd like to know ahead of time what I will need to send.

Thank you all for your help.

Hi thank you all for your help.

I saw that the HVP vaccine is a requirement for women under 26. Is that true? The vaccine has to be done 3 times within a period of 6 months, so I probably won't have time to do it before getting the visa ( hopefully). Does that matter?

Also, when do I need to apply for a travel document? My fiance's job makes him travel all over, and next year it will mainly be Canada and some other places like Puero Rico. I am going with him. And I need to be able to go back to Belgium.

What would be your advice?

Third thing, can I ask for a police report now or do I have to wait longer? I am abroad so everything will take more time.

Thank you for your help!

Yes, I heard HVP vaccine requirment for women under 26 .but I am not sure you need it or not ..Sorry I cant help you for this. Please make new topic about HVP vacine maybe someone can help you .

About police recode, yes you can make it now. You should ask your fiance to scan of NOA2 to your email ,then you print out and bring to Police and make police record. I dont know each countries will make the same or not but here in Thailand we have to bring.....

1 Copy your fiance's U.S passport

2. Your passport

3. Copy of Noa2

4.Passport Photo.

to make police certificate and we have to wait 2 weeks.

Good luck !!

Hi,

Thank you for your help. I saw on the embasy review that it's done a little differently in Belgium, I have to send a letter to the minister of Justice. So I'll do that ASAP.

Thanks so much.
