Order in which Montreal processes interview requests

Hi There,

My fiance and I were approved (NOA2) October 17th, 2008. The package got sent to the wrong consulate (I had moved countries) and we just recently had been informed that Montreal had given us a case number and any day now I should receive my packet 3 in the mail.

My question is this:

Once I sent in the packet 3, does it then get put in line with all the others who just sent in the packet 3, regardless of their NOA2 date? I ask this because of the 4 month expiration date that the NOA2 has. I am not sure if they look at THAT and then put them in line accordingly. I know you can re-knew the NOA2, but, I would like to hear that we get put in first

My NOA2 was approved on Sept 12 and I don't have my interview date yet, but the NOA2 date I didn't even think about. I think that is a great question!

You interview isn't based on your NOA2 date. You aren't put on the list until you send back your completed P3 packet. Even then it's not necessarily exactly in order, but it's more based on the date your checklist is recieved.

Yes, that is right... you are put on the Montreal waiting list for an interview once they receive and enter your packet 3 into the system. Similar thing happened to my friend when she moved from Korea to Montreal, she ended up waiting a bit longer than normal from the re-routing of her application.

As for the NOA2 date, I think they will extend that for you, but once you get your package, I would email the Consulate and ask them.

Active cases (yours is active) are automatically extended. There's nothing you need to do.
