Hey folks, although I was not affected by this IMBRA thing, as you can see by my timeline, I just want to let you know that I feel for you. This process is a huge task from the get go and I just want to give you all a vote of confidence to let you know that you can do it. You can hold out, you can wait, it can be done.

And to let you know that there are so many of us that read your posts every day, even if it doesn't affect us. I don't respond personally but I read-boy do I read.

If there's one thing I've learned-it's patience. I don't like it, but I've learned it. ha.

Anywho, I just wanted to give you all a big giant hug from me to let you know there are lots of people out here who read your posts about the IMBRA, RFE's, everything....and I for one think everyone deserves a congratulatory nod (or drink) for making it thus far!!!

Good Luck to everyone, everywhere in this crazy maze!!!

Thanks!!

My wait is especially long as my fiance is Dominican, and the waiting list for interviews in his country is more than 27,000 people long. It will take nearly TWO years to get him here.

That gives "patience" a whole new meaning.

9/21 - finally ... my first touch!!

Canucker,

Thanks for your kind words- taking the time to express encouragement, and bring a bit of extra hope to everyone out there who's facing this problem, is truly an extension of karmic generosity! :)

I myself am facing this situation as well (like Luis and Laura)- my fiancee is in Brazil, and, was informed of the IMBRA changes at her interview, and then cursorily dismissed with the notice that her papers were back in Washington. This was after travelling 500 miles away from home with her mother to Rio...and after an incredibly smooth and expedient filing and approval process.

Anyways, your words really gave me a bit of sunshine this morning. Thanks for the kind gesture- it brings greater faith :)

My Fiancee is also Dominican but I don't think the wait for the interview for a K1 visa is that long 2 yrs. I know many couples in Santo Domingo whom have gotten interviews in 3 months after they receive packet 3. So there is hope. For now we have to worry about the IMBRA Law and their delays.

we are not " infected" by IMBRA. we have the AR/AP " infection"

9 months 16 days waiting since our interview. please keep those in AR/AP hell in your thoughts and in your prayers. even those K-1s under IMBRA could also see AR/AP too! (F)

I think everyone no matter what part of the process they are in should have a hug, group hug if possible.

Ouch! I see lots of you have been waiting a long time, I feel fortunate even though I was affected by IMBRA. Hang in there, the hardest thing is to stay positive when dealing with the uncertainties. It's good to know there are people that can express positivity in these stressful times. That's right, keep the faith! Thanks!

So here's a messed up question. We sent off our petition last August, had interview in Feb and so on. Been in AR FOREVER. When I ask my attorney any questions, he says our case was affected by IMBRA. I know I'm no attorney, but is he just being retarded or do I need to join the good awful/there are too many of them IMBRA forums? I thought this affected petions after March 6, 2006?:help:

8-7-06 Visa received after 6 months of AR

9-1-06 AOS sent

Yep, a retard  You are in AR nothing to do with IMBRA which only affects petitions filed March 6 and later.
