Hi All,

My friend received a letter today from the US Embassy in London asking him and his spouse to make an appointment "in connection with an official matter". They have asked them both to make appointments for a certain date and to bring along proof of their bona fide marriage.

They have filed DCF at the London US Embassy.

Has anyone else here been asked to come to the Embassy for an info pass appointment?

Any advice will be appreciated.

Have a nice day

this happened to me (USC) and my husband (UKC) last year. We filed DCF in June 2007. They asked us to go over on an official matter in November 2007. They asked us a lot of questions about each other. Bring whatever you can to show you've got a bona fide marriage. We brought letters/cards, bank statements that showed both our names on it, pictures, etc. I think what helped us was the fact that I was pregnant at the time as well.

They questioned us for about 10-15 minutes each, just asking us questions to make sure we knew everything about each other.

It's a hassle, but if your marriage is legit, then there should be no problems.

Hope that helps.

I was approved from US Embassy in London and I was also called along with my USC spouse to make infopass appointment. They only asked basic kind of questions as to how we got married blah blah. In our case it appeared that prior to approving our petition they just wanted to make sure that we are geuinely married. Perhaps same is the case with your friend. You can tell him to go ahead without any worries; ONLY that the two of them should have same statements abt their marriage.

typical questions they might ask as per my experience

Where were you born, raised, educated?

What do u do and what u gona do in USA?

Where did u live in that particular year; if u moved to another country Why?

How u two met? how long did u know each other before marriage?

wedding dates, venue etc. honeymoon, vacations etc.

pictures, joint bank statements and other asset would be great help to satisfy them.
