It's not other people's idea of fun. I think your interests are fun and others may find me boring. I call my interests growing up. :)

I've been once in my life and thankfully without Adam. It was not fun, too many young ones and hootchie girls mostly naked prancing around in front of guys. Even when in VIP, had these girls in my breathing space. And if Adam would have been there and they did what they did to my friends boyfriends I would be pretty ticked.

Anyways, for fun Adam and I like to go shoot pool or bowling with some friends. Go walk around the mall or go to a friends house to chat.

and i hate when hootchie girls do that too.. that is sooooo repulsive to me and i would be livid if my husband even thought to have enjoyed them doing that..:bonk:

I never did the whole "clubbing, or bars" scene or any of that. I've been there a few times and somehow never came away with a good/fun feeling. Believe me that I did my share of partying in known social groups, not at a meat market, blech.

After living through being married to an addict I've come away clean as a whistle, I don't like to be around it, w/ exception to stoners or shisha addicts who are funny and fun to tease as long as everyone smokes outside :D

We play games and video games a lot, wii's are awesome. I love netflix. My home is like a frequent fliers lounge where people love to visit, we have passionate, on going debates where everyone can peace and respect in the end. We dance and sing karaoke, wii sports. We like to take long hikes, go canoeing, visit cultural or artsy fartsy places. I've been known to drive until I'm lost and then found. Most of these activities include my daughter and hopefully when my husband gets here he will appreciate it. But I know he is not a 'clubber' type of guy either or else I wouldn't have married him. Hamdleallah.

Peace,

Mariah

Clubs are only fun if you are really drunk and have no memory of it the next day. I got over going out and dry humping on the dance floor at about age 18. I'm with Wally, I'd rather go to someone's house and sit around a big fire in the backyard or something and just chill.

It was fun when I was a young whippersnapper living in NYC, but these days, I'd rather just sit around a fire in someone's backyard and drink a few beers.

so if i see a fire in the backyard one night, that's you?

 is your idea of going to the club getting drunk and being hit on by other people your idea of fun.. i mean what do you do for fun.. any ideas.. apparently i am no fun

IMO, you don't need to get drunk to have fun clubbing. Maybe for the 20-somethings, but for me, I go once in awhile going salsa clubbing. The crowd is more mature, you don't see drunk people fighting outside or swearing lol. The downside is, the crowd will be on the older side...a small percentage will be the 20 to 30s. I think having one drink would be enough just to get my friends to not annoy me about drinking more

Out for dinner or a nice dinner cooked at home.

We sometimes (rarely) go to a movie, usually rent one and curl up at home.

We invite friends over and play board games (yeah, I know, but we love it).

We go to Ikea....seriously.

Go for walks - we live in some pretty gorgeous country.

We have a family membership to the Seattle Art Museum and the Seattle Asian Art Museum.

We just hang....

We're pretty boring too :)

I was over the whole bar scene before I even turned 21 (fake I.D)

The last time I went was on my 35th B-day, a friend talked me into it and I never felt so out of place and OLD...blech. Not my idea of fun what-so-ever

I was married the first time at 19. Then came the kids. No time to try the bar scene. But after my divorce I had to check it out. I found amusement by seeing how easy it is to manipulate men without nothing in return if you know what I mean.

But it got old. All I really wanted to do was go out, laugh, dance, and go home alone. So I got fed up with the chase, and I haven't been for years now, nor do I miss it.

What is it that a person likes about a club. Dancing? Drinking? Picking up a man/woman? I love to dance, but absolutely no appeal in the other 2 reasons. The hubby doesn't like dancing, and he doesn't drink, and what is left is out. So what is the appeal?

Last weekend we played on the Wii. We did bowling and boxing. I had way more fun doing that than I ever did in a club, and so did my husband.

But here is the thing, this is something your husbands wants to do. Maybe you wouldn't enjoy it, but why not go with him once in a while? Then some nights you can do something that you enjoy. Marriage is a series of compromises. Rarely do you find a spouse that wants to do exactly the same things you want to at the same time, so if your husband wants to go out and have a few drinks why not indulge him once in a while?

'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, What a Ride'
