Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Going to a club to get drunk out of my mind and hook up is no longer my idea of fun. Been there done that and to be honest with you, it wasn't that great either back then. Dealing with the hangovers and creepy guys calling me all the time because I gave them my phone number was extremely annoying. But when you're in your early 20s you think that that's what you're supposed to be doing because almost everyone else is doing it too. Now we know that that there is no truth in that but when you're that naive and haven't gone through what we've gone through by now, you think that's the way to live your life.

So if someone who hasn't matured enough is telling you that you're not fun because of those reasons, pay no attention to those comments and be proud of what you've already had to go through.

no problem, not really venting, just wanted ideas of what others consider fun.. we are all individuals and may not see things the same way others do.. i love music, photography, travelling.. that type of stuff but others may not see that as fun.. so what do you guys do for fun.. any ideas

wow...there are times when I know we are boring but it is not by choice.....We have alot on us financially speaking right now.......with my daughter in college....sometimes it leaves us no money to go out with. My husband just tells me at least we are together and not apart anymore.

However, we try to go out at least once a month to a movie and dinner, bowling, or have friends over and hang out playing games.

We spend alot of time as a group with our friends.........who happen to be my daughter's boyfriend's family. When it is warm we spend alot of time at their lake house.

We spend most of our nights cuddled up in front of the gas logs watching TV together. At least we agree on our TV shows we watch.

Anyway, good luck to you.

Speaking as a guy who got the phony numbers or usually ignored, the club or bar scene was a waste of time, money and brain cells. Then there's the fistfights, hospital trips, drunken arguments, scary car rides, possible DUIs and missing the possibility of meeting nice sober girl because my mind was clouded with booze.

IMO, you're not missing much except it was ok to experience it enough to know there are better ways to spend your time than hanging out with drunken. posturing people trying to act cool hook up other shallow types.

I have never been one to go out to the clubs and we do not drink, so, going to bars is not fun for us.

I think that some people consider us boring. I don't like to spend a lot of money, so when we do something fun it is normally low budget. Bowling (we've only been once and he loves it), board games (we have Scrabble, Monopoly and Boggle), watch movies. Another thing we do is catch up on all the shows we watch together over the weekend.

I enjoyed it until I was about 18..

j/k

I'm 24 now and to be honest I can either take it or leave it. I used to enjoy clubbing, drinking too much etc etc but about a year or so ago I just got tired of it. Maybe having a bad experience stopped it aswell. I rarely drink now anyway. Now I prefer staying in with a film and some chocolate.

I've never cared for clubs. We both like going to state parks or playing mini-golf or taking long drives, sometimes going to movies. You mentioned having different work schedules. Finding things to do together can be difficult when your work schedules are very different. If one person is used to working until the wee hours of the morning, for example, they'll still be wide awake on their days off until early morning as well, too wound up to sit at home, and the clubs are about the only things open at that time unless you're in a big city. On the other hand, the partner who works days may be ready for bed by 11:00. I don't know if your work schedule is like this, but this is something we've had to work with at times. We compromise sometimes -- he'll go out with his buddies one night while I do something I enjoy (or sleep -- I enjoy that :D ), and we'll spend the second day/night off doing something together that we both enjoy.
