PCC from Passport office--- Please dont move

It's just the Ahmedabad passport office, all of the other offices dont give you such a hassle.

probably true... my husband is getting PCCs from Bangalore...He went to local passport office today and they asked him to fill out some paper and took his passport.... now we wait for 15 days...

He plans to go to District Police office tomorrow and get that thing going too....hopefully, it's not as nightmare-ish as lot of these people are going through..

If thats the case then still, surat passport office are way better then ahmedabad. :)

Yup, try the Surat passport office first since that's where his passport was issued.

He already gave away his passport to Bangalore passport office....let's see if they do anything in 15 days or not ...

GUYS TELL ME THIS THING..HOW MANY OF YOU DO ACTUALLY HAVE YOUR SPOUSES NAME ENDORSED IN YOUR PASSPORT?IS IT MANDATORY TO HAVE IT DONE?I ASKED FEW PEOPLE ABOUT IT AND THEY SAID THAT IT IS NEVER A REQUIREMENT TO HAVE YOUR POLICE CLEARENCE CERTIFICATE...

THE REASON WHY I WAS NOT ALLOWED TO MEET THE OCCICIAL TO SUBMIT MY DOCUMENTS IS THAT H SAID THAT IT WAS REQUIRED......HE MARKED MY FORM WITH RED PEN AND I THINK IT WAS FISHY....

I WILL BE GOING BACK ON MONDAY.....IF ANYONE OF U CAN SHED SOME LIGH ON THIS ISSUE ,I WOULD BE OBLIGED.

As far as I know it is not a requirement, you should be able to just show your marriage certificate as proof of your relationship. I think its more BS since you already have a valid passport.

What passport office are you going to? If its Ahmedabad, the rules are completely different then the other passport offices.

Also, please stop using all capitals when posting.

i regret the alphabet case queuedup............but this thing seems to be getting on my nerves.........your diagnosis of ahmedabad passport office is perfect.

i had a talk wid few more people and everyone seems to be surprised at this mandate of getting the spouse name endorsed in the valid passport......can one actually refer to passport rules somewhere?

hhmmmmm...i seem to be struck at this juncture and things arent moving further.

champi did ur husband have to get ur name endorsed in his passport?

There has always been an issue with Ahmedabad Passport Office while issuing PCC. This topic has been discussed numerous times on VJ. So far best discussion about the topic is available from this post. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=122056
