Probably not but make sure your fiance knows all about it because they will ask her about it.

----

Were any of the ex-wives sponsored on immigrant visa or fiancee' petitions?

A common request at consular interviews is for the petitioner to provide the address

& phone number of each ex-spouse.

And I agree. You should definitely brief your fiancee about them. First names of each &

the year of each divorce, at least. I can't recall any beneficiaries I've talked to being

asked the "why" of a petitioner's numerous divorces. But you may want to brief her on

the reasons each marriage dissolved.

Don't bet your whole future on what you read

on a message board or in a chat room.

This is not legal advice. No attorney-client relationship is intended.

You should not infer one. It's information of general applicablity.

Do not take any action without first consulting a qualified immigration attorney in greater detail.

For the Philippines, after getting the visa, she will have to get a CFO stamp before she's allowed to leave the country even if she has the visa. At the CFO seminar, they will want to see copies of the divorce decrees and ALWAYS ask why.

Just tell them you don't know.

I too was married three times before my then fiance filed the I-129F. Firstly, I would like to say that I was never asked ANYTHING about my previous marriages - I had to supply copies of the final divorce decrees and that was it.

I was certainly not asked for addresses and phone numbers of ex-spouses and would not have been able to provide them if I had.

Don't worry about the past number of marriages. As long as you can prove they were dissolved that's all they need to know. People are not always married two/three/four times due to any fault of theirs. Your fiance should know about it, obviously, it is important that they know why your marriages came to an end, but it is nobody elses business as far as I am concerned.

Good luck with the process.

Our journey started in 2001 and it's still not over. It's been a rollercoaster ride all the way! Let me off - I wanna be sick!

I filed the petition not long after my divorce, but the petition was approved. The subject did come up at the consulate interview. The interviewer asked about previous marriages and if I was paying support. I disagree with previous poster saying what the interviewer should or should not look at. The subject is relavent and it may be asked about. I agree that your fiance should know everthing about your past marriages.

Good luck.

The CO is paid to be intuitive.

So their personal opinion does matter.

And you better be prepared for the ones with stronger opinions....especially in the Phils or other fraud post consulates.

Sorry if you misunderstood my statement. I only meant that Yes, they should consider everything when making a decision as to if the relationship is real or fraud. But once they determine the relationship is real.. then beyond that its no one's business how many times a person has been married.. or for what was the reason for the divorces. NO one has a right to make moral or culture judgements for anyone.

I am the poster child of what the USICS will do. I have been married 4 times. 2exs are immigrants.

the USICS - dallas interviewed me< USC> it was the worst experiance in my life. < 2 hours of pure hell >.

I was asked how the last marriage ended. I showed my dear jane letter. but, I dont know if the Adjucator belived me. I was also asked how I met my husband and my exs because they were immigrants. I was able to show proof of a bonified marriage. *whew*

my current husband knew of my past it was not secret. I had to even tell my husband parents. later on they were asked about my past- :( I am still embarrased over that. I did get approval on the I-130. since then petition has been at the embassy- uhmm let me see. the embassy did 2 random field investigations.

they sure enough talked to my husbands parents for a few hours on 2 random visits. plus they talked to the neighbours. verified police reports blah blah blah.

bottomline is be honest - no matter how ugly the truth is. I was able to show address and phone numbers

of my 2 exs. I also showed my divorce degrees where they filed divorce against me :(

Sorry if you misunderstood my statement. I only meant that Yes, they should consider everything when making a decision as to if the relationship is real or fraud. But once they determine the relationship is real.. then beyond that its no one's business how many times a person has been married.. or for what was the reason for the divorces. NO one has a right to make moral or culture judgements for anyone.

the USICS was trying to accuse me of getting paid to marry. rather its their business or not

they have the APPROVE and DENIAL stamp! I knew the burdon of proof was on me. I had bigger fish to

fry. instead of worrying about if its their business or not. the bottomline is if USICS has a question in their brains they will get answers. if you dont respond you bet you can see some crazy DENIAL < 212 >stamp on

your petition.

ok let me try again... somehow im just not wording right what im trying to say....

you are right shonjaved..... they can look into why my past marriages failed all they want. I too was married to an immigrant the last time around. But it had nothing to do with immigration fraud. And my relationship with Bala is very real..... so yes.. your right...absolutely right. As far as doing their job, if they need to ask a thousand questions as to why my marriages failed.. they are welcome to do so. If they need to prove that im not going into a fraudulent marriage then by all means, ask whatever you want. But thats where it ends. There are professional ways to ask questions. But then the personal comments or opinions should never come into play ... Let me give you an example . Im also older than Bala... and the interviewer made a rude comment to Bala at the interview..."how could you possible be attracted to her, when she has children and is older than you?" Im sorry but I work in customer service and there are many times that I may have a personal opinion about a situation, but I dont get paid for my personal opinions.. I get paid to go by my companys rules. so in a condensed version.. they should check everything that looks suspicious out thoroughly, but they should never let their personal opinions come into play when making final decisions. I read a post on vj before.. a lady was older than her fiance, they were denied. And the interviewer actually told her, that she had made up her mind to deny them even before they got to interview. Because she felt that coming from different religions and her being older would cause problems. I would think that was a clear case of denial based on personal opinions.

geez I hope ive made it clearer this time..(smile)
