Preparing for Interview

Hi!

I don't know if anyone of you experienced this. I was fixing the pictures that I will present on my interview next week and suddenly I felt like crying. I've known my husband for almost 11 years now. We've been in a relationship for 5 years when he moved to US then we're married for 2 years now. I've been looking at our pictures together from high school, college and then his most recent vacation here. I couldn't believe that we're almost at the finish line (that's how he quote this whole ordeal). I am so excited right now. He is also. We've been chatting often now since I just resigned from work and I have more time to go online. We thought we won't be able to see this day coming. But we are almost there and it is such a great relief. I know that the interview is going to be great next week. No worries from us although i'm a bit anxious to get this over with. Please pray for us because it's been so hard for us being away for 5 years and even going into a long distance marriage. I even told my hubby awhile ago, "you know what, I'm ready to spend a lifetime with you." It's weird because we've been married for 2 years now and it was just awhile ago that I feel we are just going to start a new life together.

I feel you. That happened to me two days ago when i was preparing everything for his interview. I saw old pictures and old letters and old :) promises. Love to compile everything for him so he will remember. We've known each other for 14 years and we've been married and yet apart for 6 years. Just like what you've said we've been married for 6 years and yet it feels like it's just about to start. When friends and family ask me about his petition, I always say "I will finally be married".

I hope everything will go well to your interview. Good luck and be very happy.

Hi Jonah VD,

well i thought i have the worst situation here. How were you able to keep the marriage going for 6 years, being apart? I could not imagine myself being married for 6 years in a long distance relationship! But I'm glad to see that you will be having your interview soon and you will be with him already. Good luck and i know that this is going to be a great year for all of us!!!

Best regards,

I think Faryan, the best part of this whole process is we can have an excuse to go back in time and be nostalgic...like look back on how you first met, your first kiss together, your first everything! It's kinda mushy but it just makes you smile and cry at the same time. Good luck on your interview as well.

My husband and I go back to our past often, from the time we met onwards...those little details that seem ordinary to other people but which we treasure so much....and the magic is always there, making us feel like teenagers and all giggly and such. When I think of it, it still seems like a dream that i never want to wake up from...and yet, it isn't a dream. My husband gave me his treasured Army days scrapbook and dogtags...heirlooms we would pass on later to our children...as well as pictures of himself from his infancy to adulthood. Whenever I go thru these, I feel awed that this little baby, or this highschool football wide receiver grew up to be my husband. And I start to cry out of sheer joy and love. We've been married for just over a year but it seems that we have been our whole lives. There is still something missing...at least for the next 82 days :). I am going home to my husband...I am going to finally and really be his wife in every sense of the word. :star:

it sounds like you're good to go. Reading your post kinda made me feel nostalgic all over again. I remember the day that my husband got here to Seattle. Things will definitely change but for the better and for the future. Just be strong and remember to always smile. You're almost there to the new chapter in both your lives. You'll love it. God bless always! :star:
