Ok Hubby and I went for our biometric appointment today, we arrived at the DHS Seattle at 13:45 for our 14:00 appointment. Once inside we noticed that the room was full to the brim, people were standing and all the seats were taken. The lady at the front desk gave us a form to fill in ( no pens to do it with) so had to scratch around for a pencil. We were given the number 127 so naturally thought well this will not take long  boy were we ever wrong ! We waited a good hour until our number was called, I went up to booth 11 and handed over my papers, was told I had to wait again and was given another number which was 183. This is the bit where it was a total ** up! First of all we went and sat back down, we noticed that they were calling people in blocks of five, after another hour of waiting a representative came out and began speaking to one waiting couple, we overheard him say that the DHS closed at 16:00 hrs and that he was almost certain that not everyone with numbers would be able to be seen today. The Representative then proceeded to ask the one couple if they would like to reschedule there appointment. Hubby and I were in the second row from the front, we were concerned that our number would not be called in the time allotted. We were also kinda miffed that the representative was not talking to everyone at this point about any potential problem. We decided that we would wait and see if they would call our number ( this is approximately 15:35 hrs ). They continue to call numbers but we noticed that as it approached 15:50 hrs they were calling numbers in blocks of three. The representative called number 180-182 so we got all excited because we were 183. Approximately 16:00 hrs they came out and CALLED NUMBERS 187-189 AND SAID THATS IT FOLKS and that they were closing. Well you can just imagine our faces

We went up to the representative and asked him why they skipped numbers and this is what he said " Mam they were different to you" I was just in total shock. Both, hubby and I made another appointment while this representative gave one excuse after another about the lack of common sense to it all. He gave the excuse that they do not give out appointments and that they do not know how many will turn up on each day as Nebraska makes all the appointments, he also gave the excuse that the personel were Contract workers and not Government workers so they went home at a set time. There was no apology, no offer to refund the money for parking, just thats the way it is attitude. To say I am disgusted is an understatement. They have this big Customer Service Poster in the lobby stating there goals etc etc and it is all total BOLLOCKS.

Yes this would of made much more sense, but we are talking of the Government here lol, no rhyme or reason to any of the process.

I am sorry, Janice! The Seattle facility is very, very disorganized, and things take a lot of time. The appointment times do not matter for biometrics -- you can show up as early as you want, and they take people in the order of arrival. Since you made the next appt. for 8 AM, you should probably be alright, but it won't hurt to get there as early as you can. Good luck, hope next time is better!

That is so stupid!

What did he mean "Mam they were different to you"?

The representative was trying to say they were on a different Visa to the rest of us, I thought ok I'm not going to argue (basically arguing does no good with these people) anyway my mouth was catching flys at the time. It is a daft system with daft people running it.
