ely&michael - keep checking online where you paid the bills to see if it shows as "paid" then you can print off the receipt/cover letter page that it generates once it is paid.

ours too a few days to show as 'paid'

Good luck!

Carlos & Jocel - Did you get through to NVC today?!?!? I am constantly trying to call...this weekend our AVR still said we had an RFE (even though the operator informed me that just means our paperwork has not been looked at yet...). I'm still going to call within the next few days if the AVR doesn't change to double-check that the message on the AVR is what the last operator said it was! :) Doesn't hurt to double & triple check right?

Let me know what your 'rfe' was supposedly for. I hope you don't actually have one!!!!

@@@ Moosker,

I got through after repeated calls, busy lines and finally... 1 hour later... but they were nice.

Okay this is the RFE I run into. NVC wanted an Original BC. I told them the NSO ( National Statistic Office ), the only one that can issued a BC, send us a copy of the BC. It is stamped paid and they staple the receipt in the BC. I guess somehow the ORIGINAL documnet from NSO and the one I color copied got mixed up and I may have send copy instead of the ORIGINAL from NSO. NVC can tell the different from the original and copy (not intended to send them the copy one). So I went to my files and found the ORIGINAL, some secret ink that when you make copy, it won't copy the ink (like the money). So I RUSH and got everything, the cover letter explaining the situation and Original BC from the NSO with the staple receipt to it. Well I thought I was DONE... FINISH and send it OVERNIGHT EXPRESS and paidf the fee.

And #######... the very important, well one of the important is I forgot to enclosed the COVERSHEET, the one with the barcodes, and NOW will have another DELAY in my case. COVERSHEET is very important to have when sending the paperwork because they can scan it and place it in the proper desk or office. I went to the post office and I told them I am willing to pay the additonal charge to get my envelope but it left for the day. ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRGHHH !!! I guess I wont be able to make the MARCH but I hope they save me the spot for APRIL. But as long as my wife get here before our 1st Aniverssary in MAY 2009, I can forget all this MADNESS. Sorry to vent you all!

Let's do this NVC process together!

We were approved January 6th, today January 12th received our NVC Case #.

Where is everyone else at? It's always helpful to do a process like this together. I know the Dec/Jan people did and it helped them!

Good luck all!

@@@ ALL @@@

I made a :bonk::bonk: BOO BOO :crying::crying: today by sending my documents for the RFE but I did forgot to send the COVER SHEET, the one with the barcodes, with the documents. Live Operator told me that eventhough I have a coverletter in my RFE with Case #'s and brief description ), it will be delay. The reason for the coversheet is so they can scan that documents and put in the proper desk or department which is the ATTN: DR ( Document Reviewer )

so i finally talked to an nvc operator about my husband's original birth certificate. i explained that it's impossible for my husband to obtain a birth certificate, no matter how many times they tell me they need it, because literally the authorities will laugh if you ask for a birth certificate [there are really no records of births except for those born recently].

the operator asked if i had sent in a copy or original copy of my husband's identification and i told him i sent in a copy. and he said that's why i received an RFE and i need to send in the original. so then i had to explain how he won't be able to do anything without his ID and he'll go through so many hassles and they won't issue another one. so he just told me to write a letter and explain the situation and most likely it will be accepted. and i confirmed this with another nvc operator so i've got my fingers crossed! (:

how's everything going with everyone else out there! hope it's going smoothly! (:

@ love...

I run into same problem with you with the NVC, they asked for my wife original BC which is not possible. The NSO only give us the certified copy of them so I talked to Live Operator and she will have the SUPERVISOR review the case and at the meantime I have asked my wife to send me another orgiginal certified copy of the BC... thats allI am waiting for to get an interview, wish me luck too!

Soooo we just received the "RFE" in the mail stating:

"The NVC has received the requested DS-230. However, we are still waiting for the response to the checklist letter for the AOS (I-864). Please return the requested information so that we may complete the processing of your case."

I guess because we sent the DS-230 on a Thursday, then the I-864 RFE package on the Friday.....

As I said before, the AVR states we have an RFE, but I spoke with an operator a day after that was posted and she said "Oh that's only up there because we just received your packet."

Ok soooo now I'm in line with NVC to speak with an operator...I want to DOUBLE CHECK with someone to make sure we don't really have an rfe!

Any other updates out there guys?!??!

YES it is possible to get an RFE through AVR, case scenerio that when I sent my IV package with my DS 230, the AVR wasn't updated, it is telling me that I need to send the required DS 230. It takes 2-3 days once they received you documents to UPDATE the AVR.

Anyone know how long it'll take to receive the AOS fee bill in the mail? I want to pay the fee so I can mail in the I-864 stuff! :content: I can NEVER get through at NVC...seems like everyone is calling all at once! Still no 'acceptance' of DS-3032...still waiting on that. Oooh I hope this all goes much quicker!

Peter'n'Jamie...how is your journey coming along?

@ Moosker, I paid my AOS bill online and sent my package the same day. By the time they received my package, the ONLINE status will be PAID. Depending on where you are it takes about 3-5 days. They mailed my AOS on the 2 Feb, I received them on the 4th and paid it right away, the same night, sent my package to the NVC.

ALSO... the NVC received my RFE, ORIG/CERT copy of my BC yetserday and when I talked to LIVE OPERATOR this morning to make sure they received my BC, they, OPERATOR, told me that my CASE is COMPLETED :dance::angry::star: and will receive the mail for the INTERVIEW Instruction on APRIL... She told me that don't need to send any more documents as they have completed my case. I will call again to verified tonight with another OPERATOR! :wow::D

Here's the update! After over 30 minutes waiting in que to speak with an operator I finally got a nice lady and told her that I received a paper saying they didn't have specific information, and also the AVR states we are missing financial info. She says "oh no, we already received that...." I said ok so it's just in processing then? "Looks like it... (she's quiet for a bit) ...oh actually your case was complete today." How about a celebration?!?!

CASE COMPLETED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Moosker... yeah its weird! I also got an RFE, missing document, DS 230 part 1... got the RFE in mail yesterday.. the operator told me,,maybe,,,a false RFE,,but send in the missing document... Its confusing...

@ CRIS, sometimes the mail from the NVC and the package you have sent criss croos each other. It happened to me twice in less than a week. If you want the most current, talk to the NVC Live Operator, they can check your case in the computer. Goodluck!
