This post is addressed to all the ladies out there who have been in the States for a while.

The Philippines has no cold weather. Right now here in Iowa, I can set a pail of water on my front step and its frozen in the morning. Its like living in a huge freezer. :o

I have spent some time in Baguio and its about the coldest place in the Phil's that I can find. And its not really cold...

So, now my question:

How do you gals adapt to cold weather?

Is there anything special I should do to prepare for my love to arrive here?

Its just not possible to crank up the furnace to 80 degrees.

What can I do to make my (L) love (L) comfortable and warm?

I live in Dallas, and we are having colder than normal winter. But nothing like yours.

Buy her a electric blanket, boots for outside.

My wife hates cold weather, she has been her since August.

When she arrived it was 110 degrees here, and that was a little hot for her.

Chiming in because So Cal vs Kentucky was a HUGE adjustment.

I moved from so cal to ky, and at that time I thought anything under 50 degrees was darn cold!

The first winter I FROZE and walked around saying... i dont find it at all necessary for it to be this cold.

Make sure she has all the accessories, gloves, hat, coat ect ect.

It took me many years to adapt to the winters here.

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

I would say main concern is dry skin followed by cold weather.

For dry skin:

- Buy her lots of lotion. Lotion for extra dry skin....

For cold weather

- Verify her set of clothes and shoes first. Then buy the most appropriate clothes for your weather there.

Never heard of a woman complaining to new set of wardrobe.:thumbs::thumbs:

for starters, have warm clothes to start with and dress in layers.

i usually wear a t-shirt, a sweatshirt, and an old sweater or another sweatshirt with a coat on if i'm going to be outside for long. long johns, aka wool underwear, under jeans, although you can also put on sweatpants over jeans if you have some large enough.

some very thick, insulated boots are a must. get some good gloves and some wool socks. a down filled jacket. a heavy scarf and a watch cap.

still keep in mind that no matter how much you wear, being outside in sub 0 temperatures ain't a bright idea.

I hate cold weather, even though I'm here in N California. I'm just thankful that its getting a little warmer this week. Highest will be around 71 degress. For the mean time that she is not here, buy here a jacket with the fleece lining inside, a hat, cardigan scarf. When she arrives, bring her to shop for a new ward robe. No woman will resist shopping even its snowing outside. Also, make sure you pump up the heater all the time when inside the house.

We are in Misouri. This is Ruchie and Mathews 2nd winter here. I was suprised how quickly they adapted to the cold weather. Buy her a lot of skin lotion and have as much sex as you can to take off the chill. Works for me!!!

how cold is cold? i got here and i was wearing snowboard jacket inside the house w/ 70 degrees temp on it. almost everday the fire place is on, and the heater is up to 75 degrees lol and i broke the record of the most expensive heat bill... then yes my skin turned scaly. looks like a fish... all kinds of lotion wasnt good enough. whatever lotion i see on the commercial i'd go and buy it... but of course its just matter of getting used to it. im still complaining how cold it is outside but what can you do its WINTER lol... and we go snowboarding too. so i always bundle up and enjoy the snow (thats the thing i look forward to in the winter)... freakin dry in colorado so my nose bleed especially in the winter... anyways we went back to phil last 07 and 08? and guess what? it was so hot for me lol... i cant believe how hot and humid it is... but id rather go hot than cold... dont worry she'll maybe complain and whine but its gona be ok. she'll get used to it too... snow is exciting sometimes for us filipinos!!!
