Packet 3 Checklist

I just received my packet 3 and my checklist. I faxed off my DS-230 off this morning, my police certificate will be ready Monday and my Medical will be June 22 (I'll have my results the same day)

My question is when do you receive your interview date? Step four states that once you have obtained all the documents that apply's to my case to fax them into the consulate to make the final application for my visa.

Would that be to book your interview? Would I be able to send in my checklist next week even though I don't have my medical yet (but will be receiving it on June 22)?

You send the checklist and required docs (DS-230 part I I think) to the consulate, so they can get your appointment scheduled. All the other documents will be taken with you to the interview. They´ll mail you packet 4 with the interview date.

So submitting step two, three and four has nothing to do with the interview date? (just for clarification)

You´ll have to check with someone going through your consulate or at your consulate´s site to be sure, ´cus it might be diff in Brasil but pretty much you have time to gather the documents even if you send your checklist right away before they schedule an interview.

Basically, what they want you to do is gather all the documents including the police certificates (which you will bring to the interview). Once you have everything, you can fax in your checklist which tells them you're ready to have your interview. Now that you've sent them your DS-230, all they're waiting for is your checklist.

In fact, you can send them your checklist on Monday, if you choose to. However, I've heard that Vancouver is pretty quick with giving out interview dates. I'd wait until maybe a couple of days before you do your medical before sending it in.

Hope that helps...
