Hi, as all you know i dont really post on here but i will tell you this. I have done this request and it took me NO WHERE!

I got 3 petitions that were filed after me and approved before me and sent it to my congressman and to USCIS in D.C. (after this information being requested to me from a so called "supervisor") and i got the same response twice...

we are currently processing 2/2 blah blah blah

Im just praying that the processing times change to mid april this month.... I doubt it VERY much though :(

Good for you

however, what i outlined in red is common and happens way too often. and infact they ARE very backed up.

Narina - i dont mean to rain on your parade, but the lady you spoke to yesterday may have been an intern, especially giving me that idea by the way she talked to you.

Also, I understand your trying to get your petition approved, but they can not outright tell you " i will get it approved IMMEDIATELY". they can call, and get info, and they can push it, but they can not and do not promise to get anything approved.

Can i ask you....did you already fill out the security form giving them permission to check up on your case and take action?

Nope. They didn't ask for it. They didn't ask me for anything other than my receipt numbers. When I needed information for my step-child's petition a few months back, they made me fill out a form.

No, I am not asking anyone to approve my petition right here and now. I just would like to know if there is a reason for the delay. And yes, I know the congressman's office can do nothing to approve the petition. The new lady said that she has no power to get the petition approved (yes, I know this) but that she can check and see if it's been assigned to anyone, or if there is anything causing a delay, such as validating documents or security checks, etc. Since she didn't give me an answer in 2 minutes I'm thinking that maybe I can trust her response.

Update: Mom called friend who called a friend, who called mom, who called me, emails back and forth...

In a nutshell: According to friend, the first lady I spoke to was "Useless" and the whole get me a receipt from someone who filed after you was just a way to say something that was impossible to do so that we could leave her alone. Oh, and it wasn't just that she could help if we sent her the receipt. She told my mom that she would get my petition approved immediately if I could show her the receipt. From that answer, I know this lady is full of it. She has no power to approve anything!!! Even the congressman himself can't approve a petition LOL Honestly, I don't think she even checked anything. I think she made the whole story up. I don't think she even checked if the application was adjudicated, and just said that it wasn't so we would not question the wait anymore. On my next trip to see my family, I'm going to speak to the wife and tell her my tale. She was the one that recommended I talk to this specific lady.

This new lady should be getting back to me ????? Who knows. If I get an answer in 5 mins, should I believe it? LOOOL

Some folks who work in politicians' offices love to behave that way...everyone else is a peon to them. Try getting the congressman to reprimand her or worse. Meanwhile, the world will come together for you in its season, not before.

LOL awhile back Lisa, Chris, and I were joking about taking a road trip to VSC.

Calling USCIS is no different than looking at their website. It's useless.

I think I'm just gonna take a break from the whole thing. I called out from work today and stayed home. I didn't even go to my appointment. I'm taking off tomorrow to go to the shooting range. That might make me feel better

I don't wanna say anything that might reflect badly on my family. These days I lose my temper quickly. That's why I got my mom to do alot of the talking. I would have just been like :ranting::bonk:

I am so grateful that our constituent manager ROCKS! She kept us informed and called two days after the approval to congratulate us. At that time she also asked that I call her when we get our interview date so she sould email the consulate. I love you Brooke heh

If you already have a "case" open with them, then maybe you can shoot the congressman an email and state your concerns :D

I emailed John Yarmuth after we got approved and let him know what a great job Brooke did staying on top of our case. He actually emailed me back( a real one, not an auto generated canned response) Yaay

It may help that i work for his brothers company and I MAY have faxed everything on comoany letterhead

The moral of the story is, some are better than others and maybe you need to contact the congressman himself.

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Ok they didnt ask you for it bc they got one from you when you sent one about your step child. i was just checking, bc they have to have that before they call USCIS to check on your case. Like i sd, the delay is prolly just bc they are so backlogged, its hopfully sitting on someones desk ready to be opened and looked at.

Aruba Dolphin, you're right...Honestly? I freakin hate Amsterdam! Maybe because I've been there so many times that it's all lost its charm to me LOL I worry about going there and being so unhappy that it ends up making my marriage go bad too. I don't do well with too much idle time. I'm the type that always has to be occupied doing something. If I go there I will go out of my mind with boredom. So relocation will have to be to somewhere that I can get a job in my field, so that I don't go crazy sitting at home.

Yes not to discourage you, but i think you should think it thru

I mean i said the same to my husband if this takes to long you can come here, and forget to go to the us

But we both rather be in the US

He was here for 3 years, then his contract finished so he had to go back?

And well the immigration process here is not that far off from USCIS just that have less petitions, but could take same amount of time or longer

I'm sorry you are feeling down right now, but I just want to point out:

I love my husband and he's worth losing all these things. I'm just hurt and angry that I have to choose between him and everything else. Either way it's a terrible choice to make. I hope I hear something positive before the end of the month, so I don't have to make such a decision.

OK, I'm done now.

your husband is having to choose between you and everything else to come here. Obviously I don't know the specifics of your situation, and they're none of my business, but this really struck a chord with me. Try to just step back for a minute and realize that though it may take some time, it will be worth it in the end.

If you think you don't want to/can't wait it out, then I wish you luck in your decision to relocate to the Netherlands!

Actually it's easier for him to come here. He has his family here. He speaks English. He's been here many times so he knows where things are and is familiar with it in the US. That's why I insisted he come here. I don't speak Dutch, don't have friends or family there. It will be extremely hard for me there. It's a battle between which is harder: waiting? or moving there? LOL That's what it boils down to. I have no idea what I'm going to do anymore. Everyone is telling me to grin and bear it and wait for him to get here. My family is having heart attacks about me leaving. The people at my job are also telling me to please be patient. His family is saying be patient. As of yesterday I decided not to complain about it anymore and just TRY and be patient.
