You're not going to believe this (No, it's not an approval)

So many people don't realize that being apart isn't just about an airplane ticket. We talked about this before. It's so many different expenses, on you pocket, your health, and your sanity. I'm not even going to go into the emotional part.

Relocation, no matter how well off you are, always results in a loss. I can leave today and go to my husband. However, what about my 8 freakin years of schooling? My home that I made for myself? Not speaking the language of the country, not being able to work, not being familiar with where things are. Most importantly, what about my friends and family? And my cats? and my fish that live in our pond? And what the hell would I do as a stay at home wife with no kids? I'd go mad with boredom!

Lots of people on VJ experience the separation every day. We all learn(ed) to adjust and keep going.

Relocation ... is it okay for your husband to give up everything and experience the change(s) ... and not you?

:secret: as to not having kids ... there is a solution

Furthermore, the congressman's rep would need a privacy release from said NOA2 holder in order to referrence it to USCIS, correct?

again, how GD annoying of them

You are correct! I was waiting out of the norm 120 days, i contacted my congressman, i signed the release, and a week later i had my approval.

But again, the senator and congressman wont usually touch it until it is out of the timeframe.

right, but unfortunatly, VSC has moved their processing times all over the place in the last 4 months. Alot of us were out of the processing times for a number of weeks until VSC posted times going backwards.

VJ IS a good gauge as to what they are currently working on, as it represents a percentage of petitions ( albeit small). If the data shows consistencies..i.e- most march and april filers have been approved, then i think its fair to use vj as a referrence to being out of processing times. When I initially wrote mine, I referrenced CSc pumping out approvals in 2-3 months while we sat and collected dust. I elicited enough sympathy i guess heh

My congressman immediately started working on ours and we werent yet out of processing times. I just asked for a formal inquiry, when they came back with the canned answer, i wrote again and asked for a detailed inquiry. They were able to keep us updated throughout the process.

It's sad that there is such a difference in constituent services departments. One would think that they would all want to serve their consituents, but apparently not.

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

I am sorry to read your pain. But, the time I have spent here on VJ, I have seen people who have had heartbreaking waits in this this process. Also, keep plugging away at any resources you have to hurry things along. Always keep a perspective in your situation, I know you said this

But this is what most us who relocate to the US feel at first.

I agree, and you my dear have waited too long for your approval.

If they are only working on march and april, and she is august, then its not even time to call and get her congressman involved, i mean she can, cant tell ppl they cant do anything, but they wont do anything, friends of the family or not. they cant have her bumped over march, april, may, june, and july petitions. I think backing out of the process is a bit premature at this time given her timeline, but its all up to her.

correct, example, her husband...you, my husband

and remember shonjov...wasnt she in like AR for 2 yrs, then her husband was denied, and they had to file a waiver. Now to me, thats worth b1tching about.

I waited a year and a half, the last few months of my pregancy, gave birth by webcam so he could see his son being born, then raised our son alone for his first year. It was painful, real painful especially since i didnt have the opportunity to go see Edi during the process bc i was working a full time job and taking care of an infant, but i took it one day at a time. and hes here now, has been here 2 years and 6 months this month

Her 130 NOA is April, thats the rational..I too would be lighting a fire under someone's behind.

Your right, sorry i looked at the date wrong.

then she should be having an approval soon. If not this month then next.

I remember when i was waiting, another girl filed a week or 2 before me with both of us having RFE's and got hers 2 months before i got mine. when the petitions are delivered, its in a bulk, and then put in buckets, then distributed to adjudicators, 90% of the time, not by the date it was recieved.

I did ALOT of research on USCIS when i was waiting, and i waited thru CSC...which was double the wait time than VSC.

Just wanna clarify, my NOA1 is from April, not August.

Yes, I am thankful that I get to see my husband every other month. I don't know how people survive not seeing their spouses for 6 months or a year. I guess I have nothing to complain about since you put it that way.

Update: Mom spoke to a friend who told her that the lady that we spoke to was "not worth talking to, don't waste your time"...she gave us a number to one of her friends and told us to speak to her. We'll see what happens tomorrow.

By the way, I must say that I'm pleasantly surprised at a few of the posts here. Some of you don't like me and it's no secret. However, I do thank you for your kindness and your nice posts. They are much appreciated.

Special thanks to everyone. I will post an update if I get anything interesting tomorrow.

Thank you all (L) . I've spent the last 2 hours or so thinking, thinking, thinking. I keep coming to the same conclusion. It's out of my hands.

I just think it's so sad that so many people became involved in my case over time, and still no benefit. I know they genuinely did what they could do to help. Many of them are as frustrated as I am. It's just that it's out of their hands too. I have talked to some very powerful people, but when you mention immigration, they just shake their heads and say "After 9/11 there's nothing I can do about that."

And my cats? and my fish that live in our pond? And what the hell would I do as a stay at home wife with no kids? I'd go mad with boredom!

I love my husband and he's worth losing all these things. I'm just hurt and angry that I have to choose between him and everything else. Either way it's a terrible choice to make. I hope I hear something positive before the end of the month, so I don't have to make such a decision.

OK, I'm done now.

PS DON'T FORGET THE REALLY REALLY REALLY BIG CULTURE SHOCK!!!!

I live in Aruba, I know Dutch

My Grandfather is Pure Bread Dutch

But even for me Living in Holland is a mayor culture shock

And I don't want to live there, vacation whole different story

Ok, and im not being "mean" but have you not concidered the fact that VJ ppl are NOT the only ones who have filed k3's in the USA. Yours is just one in tens of thousands of petitions, just bc some VJ ppl are being approved before you, doesnt mean in a sence than your next, you could have a few thousand ahead of you.

Theres no real reason to be upset with your congressman, if your within the timeline, there isnt really much they can do anyway and looking at your timeline your not at 6 months, so your congressman isnt going to jump on it full force as of yet. Its natural to be anxious and annoyed by this process, however your turn will come, your approval will come, it just takes time. You get to see your husband ALOT according to you, think of the ppl who dont see their SO the entire process, and alot have waited far longer. Its one day at a time, each day is a day closer to an approval.

Just giving some advice

Not to seem "mean" or "hostile" to you

but the USCIS is not updating their site

as for their projections on their 2009 plan, they are stating they are handling the I-129F right now at 7.2 months

Putting her and me Over due and many more from us!

And all do I am happy for all the ones that got their approval

It is plain not fair to those who filled in Feb, March, April, May to be post-approved of the June, July, especially August

I am just saying what most people are thinking

and same goes for the process of California against Vermont!

The no need to add that little line huh :D

again, they can update or not update their site a million times over, they recieve ALOT of petitions last year, we are talking tens of thousands, theres not even a third of those on VJ, my point again is, there were times when even i waited and the site wasnt updated for 2 months...it will come, everyday that passes is another day closer to the approval

from processing site:

"The table shown below is intended to be a tool for customers to view our processing times. When applications and petitions are completed within our target timeframes, those timeframes will be shown (example: 3 months). If we are not meeting our target timeframes a date will be shown (example: April 16, 2008)." as it is....showing FEB 26,2008

If you look, they are still processing petitions for FEB 2008....which means they had a sufficiant amount of petitions in Jan, Feb and March, and are just NOW getting to March, April and May, and havent been able to update the site. Because there is a specific date shown, Feb 26, 2008...means they are really super backed up and behind on the petitions. It happens, your petitions are prolly even on an adjudicators desk, but hasnt been opened yet.

As I said before...I keep thinking, thinking, thinking...all I can conclude is that it's out of my hands. I can't do anything about it. It seems that no one has power over them either. So we're all at their mercy! The only thing that I'm nervous about is that they keep delaying. I don't want to be one of those freak cases that take 5 years to get their husband here. For that much time it's better if I relocate. One friend told me a couple of months ago that his friend was trying to bring his wife for almost 5 years. Granted, I don't know their situation, but the thought of that scares the hell out of me!!!

Aruba Dolphin, you're right...Honestly? I freakin hate Amsterdam! Maybe because I've been there so many times that it's all lost its charm to me LOL I worry about going there and being so unhappy that it ends up making my marriage go bad too. I don't do well with too much idle time. I'm the type that always has to be occupied doing something. If I go there I will go out of my mind with boredom. So relocation will have to be to somewhere that I can get a job in my field, so that I don't go crazy sitting at home.

your right..the scary part is it is out of our hands.

And i honestly feel sorry for the uscis CSR....they cant do ANYTHING. they can give information on your status and give you phone numbers. thats not much. they get angry calls ALL the time, all day long, and cant do anything. they can note your acct that you called and thats it. the adjudicator may see youve called, but that wont budge them.

Ok we can go back to not liking eachother, i gave you my knowledge on this subject the best i could. and wheather i like you or not, the pain of immigration is felt regardless all over...ive seen many go thru harder times, i for one know first hand the real pain of immigration...we are thankfully over it for 10 years or until he becomes a cit when hes finished with his Army basic training and does 2 yrs active duty.

whatever you choose to do with your life, wait it out or relocate, good luck.
