I contacted the Congressman's office and explained that people who filed after me already got approvals. I asked if she could look into what's going on with my case. She was acting kinda nasty. Her answer to me:

"Well have one of those people who filed after you fax me a copy of their reciept of approval. If I have that, then maybe I can help you. Otherwise I can't do anything."

I was like, "Who the hell would give their reciept number to a stranger over the internet?" Then she said, "They dont' have to give it to you. They can fax it directly to me."

I'm so pissed off. Why don't they just tell me to ** off? I would totally respect an answer like that, more than another pile of BS. I'm so tired of BS everywhere I turn.

This whole proess is a BS.... ask her put in an inquiry anyways....tell her other ppl's congressmen have been able to do that without getting someone elses approval notice.

Oh, I am loving it more and more...

My mom just called them. They told her that our petition was not even adjudicated yet. It has NOT been assigned to an officer yet.

:girlwerewolf2xn:

You know, it serves me right. I should have never bothered with this whole process. I should have just relocated there the way my husband wished for. Now I'm paying for not listening to him. I guess I deserve it!

Thank you all (L) . I've spent the last 2 hours or so thinking, thinking, thinking. I keep coming to the same conclusion. It's out of my hands.

I just think it's so sad that so many people became involved in my case over time, and still no benefit. I know they genuinely did what they could do to help. Many of them are as frustrated as I am. It's just that it's out of their hands too. I have talked to some very powerful people, but when you mention immigration, they just shake their heads and say "After 9/11 there's nothing I can do about that."

So many people don't realize that being apart isn't just about an airplane ticket. We talked about this before. It's so many different expenses, on you pocket, your health, and your sanity. I'm not even going to go into the emotional part.

Relocation, no matter how well off you are, always results in a loss. I can leave today and go to my husband. However, what about my 8 freakin years of schooling? My home that I made for myself? Not speaking the language of the country, not being able to work, not being familiar with where things are. Most importantly, what about my friends and family? And my cats? and my fish that live in our pond? And what the hell would I do as a stay at home wife with no kids? I'd go mad with boredom!

I love my husband and he's worth losing all these things. I'm just hurt and angry that I have to choose between him and everything else. Either way it's a terrible choice to make. I hope I hear something positive before the end of the month, so I don't have to make such a decision.

OK, I'm done now.

Don't worry! I was JUST approved last week after 250 days of waiting for my I-130! There is definitely hope...it's such a slow process.

DO NOT let your Congress person influence you like that. That's ridiculous. We actually contacted someone who was above our congress woman seniority wise and he was able to help us, even if it was just to get us some extra information (we already knew of course....). There is other ways of going about it. Look at other people's timelines as well.

Good Luck!

OK, I'm done now.

You don't have to lose them all.

You and your husband are the ones who have put this deadline on.

You can change that decision.

That is the part you have control over.

And, by the way, the office of any congressman or senator reacts more easily to a written inquiry, even by e-mail. The phones are ringing off the hook right now in Washington, in case you haven't watched the news. Something like getting the entire nation out of this mess as soon as possible, and all that it entails. Being friends of this politician or that one is a nice thing, but they all know that they have no authority to get USCIS to move faster or get an Embassy to approve a visa application. The best they can do is to inquire about the status of a petition or application, and they rely on staff to do that.

Count your blessings.

You have the time and resources where you can at least visit your husband frequently....some(most) of us do not have that due to work responsibilities, finances, etc.

I have not been with my husband in over 6 months. There are several people on this forum who have not seen their SO in over a year and are still waiting.

Do whatever you feel is best but if going to Europe would be such an upheaval maybe it is best to be patient and thank God that you can see him every other month rather than every 6 months or every year.

Just trying to give you some perspective - Good luck....

Ok, and im not being "mean" but have you not concidered the fact that VJ ppl are NOT the only ones who have filed k3's in the USA. Yours is just one in tens of thousands of petitions, just bc some VJ ppl are being approved before you, doesnt mean in a sence than your next, you could have a few thousand ahead of you.

Theres no real reason to be upset with your congressman, if your within the timeline, there isnt really much they can do anyway and looking at your timeline your not at 6 months, so your congressman isnt going to jump on it full force as of yet. Its natural to be anxious and annoyed by this process, however your turn will come, your approval will come, it just takes time. You get to see your husband ALOT according to you, think of the ppl who dont see their SO the entire process, and alot have waited far longer. Its one day at a time, each day is a day closer to an approval.

Just giving some advice

"VJ Timelines are only an estimate, they are not actual approval dates! They only reflect VJ members. VJ Timelines do not include the thousands of applicants who do not use VJ"

Furthermore, the congressman's rep would need a privacy release from said NOA2 holder in order to referrence it to USCIS, correct?

again, how GD annoying of them

You are correct! I was waiting out of the norm 120 days, i contacted my congressman, i signed the release, and a week later i had my approval.

But again, the senator and congressman wont usually touch it until it is out of the timeframe.
