EXPEDITING, does it ever happen?

Hello, we filed our I-130 in Nov. 2006, it was approved along with the I-129F and held for AOS in the US. We filed an I-824, which was approved after we received the K-3. When the I-824 was approved, it stated that our I-130 would be sent to the NVC. After 13 months of phone calls, emails, info-passes, and letters, the DHS Ombudsman was successful in finding our I-130 and having it sent to the NVC. The Ombudsman requested that our case be "EXPEDITED". What, if anything could this mean to the wait time for our case? Our case is completed at the NVC, will the Consulate speed up our case? Do they ever "EXPEDITE" cases because of USCIS error? Our priority date is NOV. 24, 2006, and our case was lost by the USCIS. Should we contact the Consulate and ask for "expediting"? We have a copy of the email from the Ombudsman, it has the info about our case, it states that "expediting" was requested, that the file was shipped to the NVC, and that they would call me. They also left me a number to call them back. We have sent several emails to the NVC and asked the operators at the NVC, but they pretend that "EXPEDITING" does not exist. Thanks, Mike & Yizhen

Tonight we called DOS - 202-663-1225 to check on our case, and we were told that it has not left the NVC yet, so we called the NVC. To our surprise, it is being held for determination of request to be Expedited ! Maybe they do expedite sometimes. We will let you know what happens, thanks, Mike & Yizhen
