Hi all,

I am new to the Visajourney.com and glad to find this website. I am looking forward to some information for my I-130 application. Hope anyone having same situation or knowledge can help me in this regard.

here's my situation:

Currently I am US LPR.

Applied I-130 for my wife (overseas) - December 2006

Priority date - January 2007

I haven't heard anything except receipt from USCIS since I filled my I-130 application. Whenever I check status of my case online through USCIS website, only thing I can see is currently they are processing I-130 filled on or before January 18, 2006. And I am seeing this information since more than a year. This doesn't tell my when my case will be touched.

My questions-

1. Is there anyone (LPR) who filled I-130 for spouse which is not approved yet.

2. Does anyone have any idea how long it's gonna take more?

3. I also heard about filling case with CIS Ombudsman. Does anyone have any idea about filling case with CIS ombudsman? ie. who can file a case with CIS ombudsman or what are the requirements?

4. Contacting local congressman can help in my case?

Please share your knowledge/experience. I will highly appreciate. Since I am having hardship with my lonely journey in USA.

Thank you and have a nice day !

You didn't mention what country!

http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/bulletin...letin_4406.html

Looks a like about 5 years from your date of filing. If you can get your US citizenship you can speed things up.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

I am assuming you filed in Vermont.

I filed in California in Dec 2005 when i was an LPR and until now the priority date is not current. It takes a while. I know how you feel. I was so frustrated back then. So I filed for US Citizenship 90 days before my 5th year so I can upgrade my husbands petition. I believe that's the fastest route. I became a citizen in Sept'08 and now we are almost done with the petition process.

Good luck and dont lose hope.

Dec. 08, 2005 - Received NOA1

Sep. 28, 2008 - Called CSC to upgrade I-130 TO IR1

Thank you peters, Haole, Jonah for all your reply.

This immigration law really makes people's life miserable. A student's dependent gets visa easily but LPR dependents is not allowed to visit his/her spouse in the USA. Hope Obama's administration does something for LPR to unite their family.
