Hi,

So today i received my AOS interview appointment letter. 1st thought... OMG!! I cant believe i got it so quick - I only filed May 3rd. I was really excited.

2nd thought. Sh$t !! My husband travels alot for work and OF BLOODY COURSE he leaves on July 20th and our interview date is 28th July.

So what do I do?????How bad is it to try to re-schedule an interview appointment. How much does it put things back. Do they accept those sort of excuses for having to re-schedule if I provide them with his itineraries/work schedules etc?

I went from being happy that this is almost over with for 2 years to not knowing what to do in a split second.

Please :help: me. :(:angry::crying:

10/10/09 - Mailed both I-130 applications

10/13/09 - Received at Chicago Lockbox

10/20/09 - NOA1 Issued

10/21/09 - Checks Cashed

10/26/09 - NOA1 Received

Is it possable to reschedule is work trip... as it not a good idea to try and rechedule your interview as most people who have tried to do it end up getting a denial letter for failing to show up.... even after they have written and called.... it then take them 1 year+ to get their file reopened....

I really dont think so. My hubby works in event production and is venue manager for the event in july so he cant re-schedule because the event is already set to go ahead and his job is time-sensitive to get the venue put together in time for the event.

This really sucks.

I am stuck. I dont want to "rock-the-boat" with my application since (touch wood) everything has gone smoothly so far.

Only other thing you can do is make an infopass appointment and explain to your local office and see what they can do for you... but you may end up wait many more months for another appointment and no knowing if he will be available for another date....

Consider flighing home the night before the interview and leaving back to work after the interview.

Actually, I would think that one should be able to get a leave for one day. As far as I know, Americans are required to perform court duties, etc. from time to time. So the employer should understand and be ready for emergencies :D

I really dont want to have to re-schedule it and cause myself a lot more agro. I guess I'll have to suck it up and pay for him to fly back for a day.

Whats another $350 on top of all we've already paid!! If it means we get it over and done with then thats good.

I'll start looking for flights.

i am in the say boat,

Unfortunately me and my Hubby are in switzerland at that time and we started the rescheduling. We just hope.

But we figured that it is still cheaper to reschdule than having two tickets from switzerland to DC.

I hope that my wont be denied.

Has anybody experience with rescheduling???
