Congrats!

I have been doing alot of research on this subject since we are getting ready to send in I-130's for Marina's parents, and as far as I can tell your case will now be sent to the NVC for processing. You will get a bill for the Affadavit of Support form (the actual form you will receive later in the process to complete) and your relative will be sent the form DS-3032 (choice of agent) for completion.

See the attached flowchart for details...I cannot say this chart is totally correct as I just stumbled across it on the Internet (possibly this site!) but it is what I am using as a guide. It says CR-1/IR-1 (symbols for spouses) at the top and I believe the symbol for parents is actually called a IR-5, but from what I understand the process is nearly identical except that not as much proof of relationship is needed since you don't have to prove marriage.

Anyway, be sure you and your mother follow all of the directions in the letters/packets received and use the attached flowchart as a guide and you should be ok. Then the interview will be scheduled and hopefully your mother will be on her way to the USA!

Good Luck!

Dave

Congratulations!!!!! that was really quick!!! From my experience, the next step is that you will have to file for affidavit of support and other forms, such as, DS-230. I believe that they will send you all forms and instructions. so just wait. Congratulations again. By the way, you can give them a call also and ask about the next steps.
