A 56-year-old Canadian man is charged with attempting to smuggle into Australia 22 pounds of cocaine, with a street value of $2.45 million, using forklift batteries.

Customs officers allegedly made the discovery on Dece. 22, after inspecting a container with a forklift inside that arrived at Sydney's Port Botany facility.

An X-ray of the forklift allegedly revealed "anomalies" within the battery unit, Australian Customs said.

A white powder which tested positive for cocaine was found inside the 24 battery cells, Customs said.

Police officers were called in to investigate, and the man was located at a Bankstown hotel.

The stash was destined for an address in Moorebank, New South Wales.

"The drugs seized as a result of this operation have an approximate street value of more than $2.45 million," AFP National Border Manager Tim Morris said.

The suspect faced Parramatta Local Court Friday and was charged with importing and attempting to possess drugs.

Can you imagine snorting battery acid

Can you imagine snorting cocaine that comes out of a battery?

Ain't it funny that dopers either don't know or don't care about the source of bootleg substances they buy from criminals to cop a buzz. Probably the same hipsters that fastidiously read all the labels on the products they buy at Whole Foods Market.

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

If the battery had never had acid put it in yet, its basically just a box to put the cocaine in.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Yeah...as if dope produced by some third world criminal enterprise is produced in sanitary conditions and to exacting standards.

And no telling what it gets cut with once it hits the streets of America.

Carry on though. ;)

The key is to use a new battery shell.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."
