Yay! I really enjoyed having my MIL here last year but it was right after I had the baby and I really wasnt feel well AT ALL. I would really like her to come back now that I am up to speed so I can do more with her. she really wanted to do a lot of shopping and cooking and i was all I could do to make it through. Terrie, you should try to get some good home cooking recipes from her. and take her to Target for sure!

Mabrook! I wish so badly my MIL would travel so she could see us here and have the satisfaction of knowing how her son's life is in the USA. I think it gives Mom's a lot of comfort to KNOW that their boy's are in "good hands" so to speak...

I'm sure you'll have a great time... be prepared for her to rearrange your cupboards... ;) And don't forget the Dollar Tree! It's a BIG favorite amoung MENA MIL's... :)

OOo, exciting. We're hoping to have MIL come when we have a baby in a few years. Make sure you find some other moroccan ladies in Milwaukee for her to hang out with. I already have my egyptian ladies all lined up, lol

am i missing something? it's an automatic that i have to line up some moroccan strangers for my mil to "hang with" if she comes to visit? my husband's family was kind enough to not pre-arrange play dates with american strangers for me in morocco every time i've visited. unless she explicitly asked for such a thing, i've no reason to think that's a given for her either. weird.

 If one's MIL is coming for an extended (several month) visit, one where we cannot take off of work for the entire time and will leave her home alone during the day, wouldn't it be nice to have someone to speak one's native language with? Not to mention that all the egyptian aunties have already invited her to spend time with her when she's here.

But then, to each their own.

 Congrats Terrie!

My MIL is here now and I haven't stepped foot in my kitchen since... She loves cooking in our kitchen its pretty big plus she has an island and its a pleasure from her small kitchen in Egypt. Hmm..another thing, I haven't seen my son since that time either she a "babynapper"

I didn't line up anyone for her to meet with as she's pretty shy and not someone to venture out without me or the hubby and definately not leaving the babies behind. We do visit Target, the dollar tree (she adores it) and her favorite supermarket (its a tie) btn a mexican market with a butcher and freshest fruit around and Fry's. Thank god most of them are across the street from us!

Did I mention I introduced her to Powerball?:whistle:

Annie, that is hilarious. My MIL loves the lottery and now that FL has Powerball...ooooh. Watchout!

I hope that when she's here I'll lose lots of weight because she is such a great cook - but very healthy.
