We recently got our NOA2. I am not so thrilled, sad to say. I have been looking everywhere but i cant find any other situation as hopeless as mine.

My fiance, who is in the National Guard, was deployed for 2 years in Iraq (2005- Aug. 2007). He came to the Philippines end of January of 2008 and that was when we met by chance through a mutual friend, he left for the US early March then came back end of April, this time to propose to me.

I should be really excited about this second step of our visa process but I already feel hopeless just thinking about it.

You see, my fiance has not done anything since he got back from deployment, it has been 1 year and 4 months. Although he has done cash jobs but that really doesnt count, does it? Cuz he's not taxed and it didnt necessarily mean that he was employed. He applied for a job as a jail officer, unfortunately, he did not get accepted. He also made an attempt to apply as a border officer but I guess he didnt want to get rejected again, ergo, he decided to go to college again (he was in his first sem in college when he got his order for deployment). I doubt if he has savings so I wont even count on it.

I am worried about what kind of financial support document we are going to present to the embassy. I, on the other hand, will probably be perceived as possible public charge because I have yet to finish my LPN course, i still have roughly 4 months to go.

I guess co sponsorship is out of the question too since I have read everywhere that it is not accepted in Manila USEM.

I dont know if i should get on with the interview. I feel really guilty that i am writing this behind his back, he is very optimistic.

What is my question? Nothing, really, I guess. I just needed to vent all my anxiety out.

God Bless, VJer's :)
