Another I-130 Question.... Affidavits for Bona Fides marriage

 Share

My wife and I obtained two affidavits to show bona fides of our marital union. However, on these affidavits, some one decided to hyphenate my wife's middle and last names!!!

I'll use the initials for the sake of protecting our information... S and K are her middle and last names respectively. So then on the affidavits, her name is listed as Kimberly S-K (actually full names are on the papers so don't forget!) which, in my mind would make them both her last name... all the other paperwork shows her middle and last name separate....

Is this going to be a problem????

Thanks,

Andy

I think that you will be ok. We had 3 affidavits to show our marriage is bona fide. My husband's legal name is Piter, they misspelled his name when he was born. Two of our affidavits had his name as Piter but the third had his name as Peter, which is what his name really is. We had no problems with this and didn't get any RFEs for our I-130. However, I do recall putting Peter as one of the names he goes by on some of the forms ( I can't remember which one). Hope this info helps.

That helps a lot! My wife's name is accurate on the G-325As and on all other forms, just the hyphenated name on the affidavits.

Thanks again so much for your help!

Andy
