My wife and I did a marrage visa and she has been here for 2 years now. Her DMV license and green card is about to expire next month. I tried to call the INS number but can't get anyone to talk to. Does anyone know what's to be done next to renew the green card and DMV license or better concant number to INS? My wife thinks I'm going to trade her in for a blond girl now. Hahaha

You'll need to file (I-751) to lift conditions (to get a 10-year non-conditional PR/Green Card). HERE is a Guide.

Don't go for blonds! They are alot of trouble!!!

:bonk:

Sorry Umit... I meant redheads....

But - seriously - start that paperwork now!

It is very important to file the I-751 within the correct window of time, and be sure not to file it before the 90-day window. If you file it too early, they will send your application back. You may file at any time during the 90 day window, but it is prudent to file fairly early in the window.

If you fail to properly file the Form I-751 (Petition to Remove the Conditions on Residence) within the 90-day period before your second anniversary as a conditional resident, your conditional resident status will automatically be terminated and the USCIS will order removal proceedings against you.

Taken from the I-751 guide! Linked above...

Why are you still reading this - get that paperwork going!!!!!!!!!! :hehe:

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

Be sure a file the I-751 a month or so before her GC expires. They go by date of receipt not mailing date. If she's a day late she'll be facing deportation unless she has a GOOD reason for being late.
