Hello everyone!

My fiance will be interviewed in March. My cousin who is also his brother- in- law is giving him an affidavit of support. I did not work last year & even now i'm not working. Do I still need to prepare an Affidavit of Support and send it to him? Inspite of my cousin's Affidavit? I will be sending my bank letter and 3 years of tax returns till 2004 as they asked. I'm not sure about my Affidavit.

Please advise. Thanks :D

If you cannot meet the income requirements, you will need a co-sponsor. Sounds like the cousin/brother in law is willing to do this. I think you still have to fill one out, and provide the necessary tax returns. If I'm wrong, someone will correct me. Good luck with all this. :)

sab,

Maybe, maybe not - only the consular officer handling your fiance's visa application can tell you for sure, because it's that person's decision to make.

Well, it's better to have it and them not need it than for them to need it and you don't have it! It isn't very hard to fill out.

I sent an e-mail to the consulate in Brazil asking them this same question and they said I need to provide an I-134 (aff. of support) as well and send the supporting documents I have (tax forms, etc.) More weight will be placed on your co-sponsor, of course.
