Propaganda is an integral part of military operations (we call it "information operations" in the US military). All countries "lie", some are just worse than others. To suggest that the Israeli's feces doesn't smell is ridiculous... the question is how badly it smells.

Why would they lie, only to tell the truth a couple of days later? Doesn't make sense.

Its safe to say that the release of the footage was not a "mistake".

That's a matter of perspective, not of fact. ;)

I doubt it.

Your anti-Israel bias shows.

I think his confidence in the capability of Israel's intelligence and Israel's lack of candor shows....

I've never seen him "doubt" any

Hamas propaganda piece masquerading as news.

Word.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Why would anyone release old footage?

Perhaps because someone realised fairly early on that they'd made a mistake and publishing that would somehow cushion the blow?

Come on - that's disingenuous at best.

I'll tell you what's disingenuous - "doubting" IDF reports while taking Hamas' word as gospel.

Can you lock in on those protestors' coordinates, HAL? The IDF is looking for another human shield of Hamas to hit.

Nice try.

The IDF doesn't kill its own citizens to get a couple of Hamas guys.

You know who does that? Hamas.

Where exactly is Hamas' word being taken as gospel?

The fact is that the IDF f*cked up, they admitted it - but it looks rather like someone tried to mitigate the PR fallout by publishing old footage of militants at that location.

...but they're shielding Hamas with their protests. Clearly aiding and abetting the terrorists. I'm sure the IDF could pick out some Arab-Israeli's from the bodies to declare they acted out in self defense.

Looking at this incident to prove how really nasty the IDF is akin to how many stories dealt with Abu Ghraib during the Iraq War. In both cases, people latched onto some photos and forgot most of the larger events that preceded and took place after the incidents. It's a lot easier to get people angry with a photo than some statistics on the number of deaths involved.

I think everyone needs to be careful how they are framing others' views. There is no question in anyone's minds that Hamas firing rockets into Israel is morally wrong. What many here have refused or failed to acknowledge is any responsibility Israel has towards the Palestinian people. Many here have placed the blame on the Palestinians themselves for voting the Hamas to power. What's ironic on that notion alone, is how many American get put off when they hear about other people in other countries hating Americans for what our government does. There's a hell of a lot of double standards going regarding these issues. It's too bad that so many here don't own up to that.

Satirically, it's not that different of a stretch that some here have made regarding culpability of the Palestinian people over Hamas' actions.

Really? I don't think Americans give a ####### what Spain thinks.

If they did, they would have voted Kerry :jest:

Incorrect - the dying breed of neo-cons don't care what other countries think of us. So long and thanks for the fish.

So everyone who voted for Bush in 2004 is a "neo-con" and a "dying breed"?
