Hello, I was told that my petition was being returned to the USA on December 29th. I was also told by the embassy that it was no longer in their office, and will not be reviewed by a senior consul. It was ok, because if they were going to be ignorant and ignore our relationship proof, we were going to do what we can to have it to expire. But from reading on the forums, thanks Kiya, Morrocco, and Chi, I immediately contacted my two Senators offices to see if either can stop the case from getting returned, and keep it in India if at all possible. So as I am waiting to get my Indian visa back so I can see the love of my life in February, I thought I would contact NVC since the embassy claimed it would be in the USA immediately (by the end of last week). NVC said they do not have record of our case in their office. I know it could take some time for it to be returned, and if it is anything like Casa peeps who said it took their petition over 2 months to get back to the USA, could that mean it is still in India, and we may have a chance for a second interview, which I will have my behind there for this one? I know, I could be giving myself false hopes, but false hopes are better than none at all. I contacted one of my Senators office on Tuesday, and the case worker said it could be too soon because of the holidays. The other senator did not have me send an authorization form until this week, so they have just barely started.

If I were you I would keep trying. The Senate and House inquiry forms are online, so you don't have to wait for them. I would have all three of them writing on your behalf. . .you're just trying to catch up right now.

Also, this might be a good case for making a consular visit (as the USC) even if you don't have an appt. . .showing up may or may not do any good but will SHOW THEM you are serious.

My case was returned back in 3 months .....Sometimes people get lucky calling in the embassy and asking the Con.Off to review the case one more time, before they sent it back.

My now husband showed up at the embassy so many times. Unfortunately the Consul is the only one who decides how to arrange your life, they "know better" if your relationship is true or not...But I do believe that soon or later the honest people will get approved.

Contacting the senator, congressman is the best thing as well as other things written on this forum. The info provided here helped us a lot . Once you show interest that you are concerned, they will act more seriously and hopefully you will get lucky.

Wish you good luck

i think before u were given steves phone number he is the first one to know when it arrives back in the states. Talk to him he is very good to keep in touch, they come back as soon as the pouches are full. If yours goes in first it will be few weeks, if it is one of the last could be few days but in the meantime keep the efforts going to keep it there until u hear steve say it is here. The embassy will continue to tell you probably it is gone because they are moving on themselves to other cases with return on yours in their mind, but just keep trying

Thanks guys, the other senator's office, that just started this week said to contact them in 30 days. which should be right around the time i am leaving. we are planning on making an appointment with the embassy. we refuse to give up. i am thinking i will come with letters from friends and family. it couldn't hurt. one of our friends was there with her husband the same time i was there. they are from north carolina, so i will have them both write letters, and send me a copy of their passport and visas to prove they know our relationship was going on. my family is also ready with letters (i think they are tired of me bugging them, lol) and his parents are there with him now for a visit, so he is working on keeping them there at least until i get there so we can take more pictures together. otherwise, 22 hours by train would not be easy for me to get to them in my 10 day visit. they are willing to write affidavits and letters too.

i called steve's number and that was not a pouch number after all. the website states they will take open visitors without an appointment monday-thursday, so we will try and go the first thing on Monday morning, since i will be arriving on thursday evening. again, i am always appreciative of advice, and do everything i can to follow exactly. so, please keep them coming

I am pleased to see you posting. I hope that you can manage to keep it there, but if not don't despair. Kiyah was successful in getting married and getting her husband here. I also see that you appear to be calm, and prepared. Great! This is the best way to handle a denied visa.

Please keep us informed.

Thank you, I am doing the best I can. I am still reading Kiyah's pinned post, lol, I am finally on page 30 of the 41. I am determined to get it read this weekend. Your postings have really helped, that I recommend to all that I see going through this hell.
