Is there an 800 number to call to check on the work authorization status for my husband? Or the number in general? I sent it certified a week ago but haven't even got back the certified receipt, I wonder if they got it.

I like to get the receipt number and go online to uscis.gov and check every week to see if it's been updated,

Calm down, give them time and let them do their work. You said you sent it in last week? So stay calm. You are not a newbie to the immigration process, so you should know that they might be slow from time to time, but they do their work.
