RARR!!! :help: I am getting worried and a little frustrated!!

My husband came here on a B2 visitors visa...back in 2006. (So its been a while)

We have many pictures of us, our first Christmas (2006) at my Moms in Hawaii...My mom and dad at our house (2007) Pics of his family coming to visit (Jan 08)...Pics of my dads visit this past Christmas (2008)...We have tons of pictures of us at different places with different people. And of course our wedding pictures in Vegas.

The only things his name has been allowed to be on are my health/dental insurance through my employer. My 401K shows him as my beneficiary as well as on my life insurance. He is on our bank account - only since the beginning of last month though. He got his drivers license and we decided to try and see if we could put him on my bank account now with the NOAs and such - and they informed me he could of been on at any time! (which I was told 2 years ago he couldnt without a SSN).

Our drivers licenses both show the same address...And thats all we can do for now. Once he has a SSN he will be on the car insurance, lease to our apartment - but we will most likely get his EAD the week before our interview!!!!!!! And thats what concerns me. :( I dunno...Im getting nervous! I can't stop thinking about if we have enough to prove or not. My family keeps saying the the IO should understand not being on the lease and such since he has no SSN at the time.....but the horror stories I hear.... :o

Anyone?

Chillax you are worrying about nothing, that's pretty much what we had and I was approved.

This is what the officer asked from us,

Certified copy of marriage license, (again)

Look at the Birth certificate certified copy (again)

Copy of the latest income tax (we filed jointly, so he had it)

End of interview, no look @ photographs, no recount of how we met and how we feel in love, NOTHING...

There, go to sleep lad you will be fine is not like you got paid to marry him, just repeat that your relationship is TRUE ok?

Hello, I was in the same boat. My wife can't add my name on her lease because I don't have SSN. However, we're still waiting for the answers from our apartment if they will able to add my name on my wife's lease.

We do have this:

- Bank account both of our names

- Car insurance both of our names

- My wife insurance ( life, health, dental, vision) and I'm her beneficiary

- Telephone and internet account statements both of our namaes

- T-mobile cellphone plan - two numbers (one for my wife and one for myself) - my name is not on her cell plan

- Our drivers license both show the same address

- both of our names in other telephone company

- Phooto 16 pcs placed on our scrapbook ( letters from my wife's mom in the philippines, cards from flowers.com, our letters, bunch of long distance call statements from 2006)

- Hopefully we can file our 2008 income tax return before our interview

I don't know if this enough for our upcoming interview

I'm a little bit nervous as our upcoming interview is on nxt month.:o

"Have faith in God, Jesus answered. I'll tell you the truth. if anyone says to this mountain, Go, throw yourself to the sea, and that does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen. it will be done for him. Therefore I'll tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours" (MARK 11:22-24)

Just a hint for everyone, if you cannot get your spouse on your lease agreement without an SSN, request that the rental office add your spouse as an occupant at least, or write a letter stating that you do in fact live together.

But I agree, all the evidence above should be fine.

hello I am new over here. I am even more terrorized when I see your evidences. My Us citizen wife is a fulltime student. She barely has any income except her finacial assistance. We have found it difficuly to produce any evidence. We are sharing a two bed room apartment with my cousin. Most of our utilitiy bills are paid by my cousin. And her brother also support us with everything we need. The point is difficult to take any document to the interview the only thing we have is just a joint bank account (we put a liitle money we got from our respective relatives), Photos and some postcards and letters from my brothers back home. We do not have a lawyer(we can not afford for it). My cousin put my wifes name in the lease of the apartment but they said no for me becuase I do not have SSN. Could you please tell me what i can prepare to take to the interview. Thanks all in Advance!

well, im basically in the same boat. my hubby is a student and works only part time. that means, we still live at his parents house (we're both around 21). i understand how you feel, because i feel the same. what we have is a joint bank account, a family cellphone plan with our names on it, and a joint credit card account (he got a student credit card a few days ago, and we just called up and put me on his account, they will send me my own card soon.) like you, we have greeting cards and letters addresses to both of us, and photos.

what i'm trying to tell myself is.. that the immigration offices will certainly see that we are both still very young, and they can't expect us to have our own house, car, life and health insurance by the age of 21. they want to see that your marriage is true. make your best effort and try to get things that are reasonable.. like a bank account, a credit card, small things like that. we are having my hubbys best friend write a letter that says that he knows us, has been to places with us, and that he knows that we have a true marriage based on love.

try not to freak out - although i know it's hard, because i freak out almost every day myself. so i'm always open for advice too.

08/26/08 - arrival on VWP to meet my boyfriends family for a month

09/29/08 - heartbroken, didn't take flight back

10/26/08 - surprising proposal

10/31/08 - halloween wedding :)

hey zola,

your list looks fine too me! you even have a lease, which we don't have. I don't know when your interview is, but if there is enough time, you might try to get a credit card with you as an authorized user. that's what we did. it would add another thing that connects you to your wife financially.

i'm very nervous myself, my interview is coming up on march 10.

my list looks like this:

- joint bank account

- credit card

- family cellphone plan

- medical bills my husband paid for me

- cards, letters addressed to both of us

- about 40 photos of us and family members

keep me updated, and good luck!

Don't argue, just do it. You're right that it doesn't make sense, and they might not even look at the copies.

If you sent any photocopies with your original submission, they may request to inspect the originals.

I do remember that, in our case, we sent a photocopy of a birth certificate, along with a translation, when we sent in the initial I-130. At the interview in the consulate, they still had all the original paperwork, but nevertheless, they wanted to see the original certified copy of the birth certificate with its raised seal, and they wanted to see another photocopy. They held the original and the photocopy up to the light together, to verify that the photocopy matched the original, and they examined the seal, and then they kept the photocopy for their records.

So now they've got two photocopies of the exact same birth certificate in the file. I don't know if anybody ever compared the photocopy we sent with the initial I-130 to the photocopy they took at the interview.

Oh, and I would add a "me too" to the general sentiment of this thread's response to the original question. The evidence list looks reasonable for someone married a short time. But now I see that the original poster has already been approved, so I'll just say "congratulations!"
