Sorry for the curt replies earlier, I'm just seriously stressed, because I just found out that the filing fees for the I-485 are bloody US930. I found out that applying for an SSN is free, but that's hardly any comfort at this moment. WHY MUST THEY MAKE ALL THIS SO EXPENSIVE?!

Anyway, while filling out the I-485, they ask for family name. Do I give my maiden name or the name I take on as my husband's wife? Also; "List your present husband/wife, all of your sons and daughters" <-- do I actually put his name down, even though he is the USC? And then there's "Address- C/O". Huh??

I don't even know what the A# is. I remember that I didn't have to fill it out while filing for the K-1, but what about now?

I'm so stressed right now it's not even funny.

OK.

Have you officially changed your name to his yet?

I believe "Family name" is the name you were born with.

If it asks for your "husband's name" and you are married ( congratulations!) then you put him down.

Your A# is on your K-1 visa in your passport....

Not sure what your question is about the address.....Just put the address down that you both live at now.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong, it's been ages since we filed I-485!

P.S There are example I-485 forms in the guides section. :)

Organizer needs to move this to the AOS forum to get the appropriate answers, I think.

IK HOU VAN JOU, MARK

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!

not to rub salt in the wound but the AOS fee is $1,010... ($930 application fee + $80 biometrics)

A# is your alien number and is on your visa or your NOA2 appoval notice... begins with "A"
