Tomnjas your comments at the bottom of your post is for off topic not for the K1 forum, as for looking for an answer for this well if you play with fire you are going to get burned. Your other half is pregnant, lots of woman have babies all over the world what makes you think your other half is any different to any one else, if I appear off handed then I am very sorry. Some of the best doctors in the world come from poorer countries, they work harder and know the conditions. Yes we all worry about the health and well being of every woman who is pregnant but I know from personal experience that every thing will be ok.

August 20 2006 Baby's Due Date - Baby will automatically be a US citizen at birth by filing a report of consular birth abroad...but apparently the baby, although a US citizen to be, has no rights to be born in a USA hospital but must be born in some 3rd world midwifery world clinic without adequate healthcare. Yes, this is true that millions of babies are born throughout the world, regardless of geography as stated in the previous post. You're concerned about the baby's health, this is normal. If both parents are healthy then the birth of your child should happen without any complications.

Yes, illegal immigrants are receiving free healthcare at the U.S. taxpayers expense, this is not a good thing as the cost of healthcare continues to rise to the point where the U.S. citizen can no longer afford the premiums. Michigan was known as one of the states where foreigners could travel to have their child born on taxpayers dollars, the child is born in the U.S. making them U.S. citizens, then the mother would fly back to their land of origin only having to pay for the airfare. I believe that this past year laws may have been enacted to prohibit this, not sure?

Yes, it is a very long, drawn out process of going through the system to bring you and your soulmate together for eternity. I would much rather bring my fiancee over by means of the legal system then by other means, I don't ever want to worry about her ever being deported!

Please, hang in there a little longer, the system may take some time but remember once she receives the visa there's no looking over your shoulder for someone that's waiting to deport her.

It doesn't matter what law they pass--if a woman is about to give birth a law is not going to stop the process!

Would you want to go to a hospital or doctor that checked your citizenship(or legal status) before they would treat you???

Let me get this straight, you are pissed off that your baby is being born in an hospital in the Phillipines and that it can't be born in a USA hospital? What's that got to do with the illegal immigrants in the USA? Maybe I am a bit harsh here , but maybe you guys should have thought about this before getting pregnant?

The real question should be why don`t ALL people in the world get FREE healthcare? I believe such laws are designed to have you angry at immigrants which is odd since i am sure you would accept free healthcare. Maybe you are angry at the state but it came across as anger towards illegal immigrants. Besides if you work illegally you have no laws to protect you do you? Illegal workers are open to exploitation and low wages. If everybody was automatically legal the system would work so much better for everybody (apart from the state i guess).

This is very true, but if a woman comes to the United States just to deliver a baby then to fly back to her country, wouldn't you see this as being wrong? I agree that if a woman is about to give birth then she should have the best care available but she should also give back to the system that provided the care.

I sympathise with Tom but with Congress, the Senate, and the President focusing on "how to make illegals legal", what are people to do that want to go through the system legally?

I'm not upset about anyone getting free healthcare, it should be offered to all for free not just a select few, but again how is this feasable?

The question that should be on everyone's mind is "how do we eliminate the backlog of K1 and K3 visa applications?"
