I filled DS230 form for my sisters application along with Police clearance certificate from police commissioner office.

I got a missing document letter from National visa center with the instruction to obtain PCC from local passport office.

Passport office in Ahmedabad not taking application for PCC with DS -230 letter or missing document letter from National visa centre. They said that the can issue PCC only if you have visa call or interview letter.

Can you please provide me a guidance on how to get the PCC from Ahmendabad passport office for DS-230 application?

Did any body face this kind of situation? how do you get around it?

Apparently they do not understand that the consulate in mos countries do not handle the immigrations documents, this has been moved to NVC for processing.

All I can sugest is to direct them to the NVC website that indicates tha NVC handles document processing.

For certain U.S. Embassies and Consulates General, the National Visa Center (NVC) provides document collection and review, and schedules the cases for interview. The Department of State refers to these embassies and consulates as Appointment Posts.

For immigrant visa cases assigned to an Appointment Post, the NVC will collect the fees, affidavit of support, civil documents, and police certificates, as required. When a case is complete, it will be scheduled an appointment for an interview with a consular officer. For all Appointment Posts (except, the Consulate General in Guangzhou, China) the NVC will send an appointment letter to all interested parties (applicant, petitioner, and agent/attorney of record, if applicable) notifying them of the date, time, and location of the interview; and forward the petition to the appropriate embassy/consulate. The Consulate General in Guangzhou, China will send appointment letters for cases assigned to it.

IMP_K,

Try contacting Mumbai consulate and let them know about your situation. I am sure they will be able to help you out. I am also planning to call them on monday since I am running into same problem as you are. I wish if someone have told passport office in ahmedabad about the new procedure, we wouldnt be running into all this #######!!! Keep us updated on your situation.

Good luck!
