NickD,

Centrifugal force is fake. :D The only force that occurs when an object travels in a straight line, and acceleration is towards the center is known a centripedal. :D

People make those mistakes all the time.

Ha, actually it's called centripetal force, a force essentially just the opposite of centrifugal, inward instead of outward. Sitting on top of a spinning earth, it's that centripetal that is holding us in, and apparently greater than the centrifugal force, or else we will be flying. Still don't know the exact nature of that force, nor how to control it, but seems to be directly related to mass. Perhaps explaining why you see some very fat couples attracted to each other, but maybe not, can also be personalities.

Anyway, a very complex and misunderstood subject, but not sure if I would call a zillion gauss magnetic field anti-gravity as some scientists call it with some strange prophecies of what this may lead to. But again, they are looking for grants.

I'm looking at his paper. The reporter make it sound like he changed the orbitals and orientation of the electrons so that the object levitates such as the case with magnetism. Weird.

it's science, jim, but not as we know it.

Really amazing they can levitate a 1/4 of a gram insect with an electromagnet only the size of a skyscraper. I am impressed.

After experiencing an MRI and being hit with a million gauss, took me several days for me to rearrange all of my molecules the way they were before that MRI. Wonder how that insect felt?

Still nobody knows nothing about gravity, what kind of force is it, can it be shielded, how fast does it travel through space, etc, but we do know, can be created by centrifugal force, but we ain't flying off the earth. But most certainly there, a hammer slipped out of my tool belt and landed on my toe, that hurt.

Just your H2O molecules, Nick. They rearranged back to Brownian motion the moment the magnetic field was removed.

Gravity does not travel. It is a property of matter.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Gravity is a force and an invisible force at that like electrostatic or electromagnetic forces that are know to travel at the speed of light, but the only way to prove are fast this force travels would be in some manner to instantaneous insert a new planet say in our solar system, not very practical. So this has many scientist guessing as to how fast this force is traveling, some think at the speed of light, others, instantaneously, yet even others, don't have the slightest idea.

Had a course in quantum mechanics years ago, just don't use it everyday, shell theory, ev levels, electrons cannot orbit in a linear fashion, but take jumps, something like that, still have yet to see an electron, but sure can feel them in my work. (Hair stands on end, LOL)
