OMG Kelly Zaid looks so much more grown up in those pictures!!!!!! He def has his daddy's eyes!

I'm here at work pretty early today actually. I cleaned out our linen closet last night and today I'm working on our bedroom. Friday night is the boys room. I have huge redecorating plans for the weekend. Including building this for our bed:

http://www.livingpod.com/lifestyle/modern_moroccan_style/

Except that we have a "headboard" so the back piece I'm going to split and pull out and around the headboard with tie backs. Now I just have to find 2 lamps for the bedside tables......

In the boys room, I'm emptying the large closet and putting a little desk inside for Mikhail. He really loves to create so I'm organizing all his supplies so that he has a little space in there that he can go. We've really struggled to give him his own space since he shares the room with Khalil. I've also entertained the idea of getting a loft bed for him, but I think he's still sorta small. I did see one that wasn't too high at Ikea and it has a slide to get down!

Happy Thursday!

MrsAmera here is the link as promised for the new 'fiber floor'. You can cut to fit and lay it right over those old tiles. They also have a pattern that is small mosiacs and would look awesome for the backsplash area!

Hi all, happy Thursday!

Does anybody know if an Egyptian needs a visa to transit through the London or Amsterdam airports?

Tasha, I hope that this helps. Here's the website I used :

http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/en/doineedvisa/visadatvnationals

I'm still looking for Amsterdam, I'll let you know if I find anything!!

Another good site for the UK is this :

It allows you to put in the purpose of your visit, your nationality and if you live in another country :

http://golondon.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsi...isas.gov.uk/en/

PS This website says if you hold a valid US visa you are exempt for needing a transit UK visa if you are returning to the US and if you hold a "green card" you are exempt irregardless of where you're traveling for need of a transit visa. However if staying in the UK the Egyptian would require a visa to visit :

When you're done, you wanna come over and help me? I just realized last night, that even though my fiance is not coming until April 6, with me flying out March 21, and making up hours at my part time job so I don't lose wages/vacation time from the 3 weeks I'm taking off from both jobs, I'm working almost every weekend from now until March 21, with only 2 Sundays off, and a few Saturdays off (I'm trying hard to save my vacation time at my full time job so I can take more time off when he's here to be at home with him)

Which means I need to start getting my place ready like...now!

I do hope this makes the next 2 1/2 months fly by :innocent:

Amsterdam :

An Egyptian would not need a transit visa for Amsterdam by air travel. In addition even if someone is from the listed countries that are required to have a transit visa, having a green card from the USA would cancel that requirement.

http://www.netherlands-embassy.org.uk/pass...index.php?i=133

The only countries that require transit visas for air travel are :

Transit Visa

* The method of travel determines whether or not you require a transit visa and which type of transit visa you need.

If you are travelling through the Netherlands over land (e.g. by road or train), passport holders of countries whose nationals require a Schengen visa should be in possession of a valid transit visa.

When travelling by air, nationals of the following countries require a transit visa to pass through the transit zone of a Netherlands airport:

Afghanistan

Angola

Bangladesh

Colombia

Congo (Dem. Republic)

Eritrea

Ethiopia

Gambia

Ghana**

Guinea

Guinea Bissau

Iran

Iraq

Nepal

Nigeria**

Pakistan

Sierra Leone

Somalia

Sri Lanka

Sudan

Syria

This does not apply if above-mentioned nationals hold:

* a residence permit (indefinite stay) for the United Kingdom or one of the EEA countries or a temporary residence permit for Canada or the United States of America (Green Card). This residence permit must be valid on the departure date from the Netherlands and

* a confirmed onward flight ticket and

* the applicant is not leaving the transit lounge.
