It verifies he is in the US legally. Show them any of the documents listed to prove identy SSN, drivers license, state issued ID card, but DONT show his green card.

Sometimes HR departments get confused when the 2 year conditional card expires or when a ten year card expires and they think you are no longer eligible for employment. So its just better not to use the CG to avoid possible hassles down the road. Of course if its the only ID you have and you need the job then use it, but if you have other acceptable ID use that.

Oh, never thought of that. You're probably right, some do get confused.
