Nobody could help me so far with this answer...I was in uSA in 2007 with J1 (work and travel program)..so I applied for SSn and I have one.

In 2008 I came with k1,I got married and now I appply for aos.I need to fill out I-765 and i don't know what to answer at q 11.Is anybody here in my situation?

My opinion is that J1 gives you the right to work.I don't remember what forms I filled out at that monent for j1 interview..I don't know if one of them was for work authorization and what USCIS office?

Anybody knows what I'm talking about?

pls...i need to fill out this form..and it took me a lot to fill ou everythinf..and still have no answer for this q.

Thanks.

You had a paper form which autorized you to work on J1. However, it is different from work authorization card you are applying for. You should answer no.

I-765 is based on the pending I-485 (C )(9 ) This costs nothing when included with the I-485 when adjusting status. The J-Visa is not longer relevant, you are in the USA on a K-1 visa.

Moving to the Work/Travel before green-card

Correct you are applying for a different EAD, NOT renewing the prior one from the J-1 visa. Edited by YuAndDan

I had a J1 visa as an au pair and we are no authorized to work, we are authorized to be in an exchange program. It is different. I don't know if your type of visa was different than mine but I answered that I never asked for an authorization of employment since I was not employed. I only received pocket money for my work. Hope it can help
