Hey everyone! Ok so I still am SO excited since my I-130 was approved! How exciting! :)

Now I'm trying to stay focused and do EVERYTHING possible to be prepared for the next step.

I feel a little overwhelmed, so please don't mind my questions if they are basic. If you know the answer....please let me know!

1. I (Canadian) need a CERTIFIED copy of my birth certificate, correct? (As does my husband)

2. What forms does NVC send us? Can I print off the DS-3032 and send it in myself, or do they send it to us and we fill it in? I'm a little confused there...

3. What should I start doing NOW to plan for the future NVC stuff? I have read the Wiki guide, but it's a little confusing.

Thanks in advance for everyone's help!

Just trying to do this as fast as possible :) Aren't we all....

Read through this guide. It will give you an overview of what to expect.

http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/...he_NVC_ShortCut

You need to wait for NVC to receive your file and assign a case number. The guide will explain how to start. Generally you do not send anything in until NVC has generated the request for it. That includes the DS3032 - see the guide!

If you are the beneficiary only you will need a certified birth certificate but make sure it is the long form with both of your parents listed.

You will also require a police clearance. This link will gve you some info for that.

You will also get a lot of help in the Canada forum.

Good luck!

If you have the originals of the PCC, Marriage Certificate and Birth Certificate, send those. I sent a certified copy of my marriage certificate and they had to send it to a supervisor to take off my RFE for it and they are requiring the original for the interview. For your PCC, go to a local RCMP station and get a Canada wide check done on you for your name and date of birth.

For the DS3032, Personally, I would wait til you get the packet in the mail with your invoice number and case number on it. The DS 230 and the I864 can be filled out online and once you pay the AOS bill of $70 and the IV Bill of $400 and it shows paid on the NVC website, you can print out the coversheet and send in what you need. (The payments have to be done off of a US bank if you pay online.) You can submit copies for this part of the I 864 supporting documents, but all supporting forms for the DS 230 must be originals with the exception of the copy of the passport biographical page. (You will get them back at the interview). You need to send in two passport size photos with the DS230 and the other documents.

Hmm....so even though it says on the NVC web site to have a certified marriage certificate you had to send in your original? I'd be worried I wouldn't get it back!
