Married on Visitor Visa

Hi Everyone,

Our friends got married yesterday while she was visiting from Ireland. He is confused what he needs to do next, as they want her to stay while their petition is pending. (And yes this wasn't a planned wedding or anything, it was very spur of the moment, she had a return ticket, etc etc etc)

We did a CR-1 so I have no idea what to tell them. They don't seem keen on posting in VJ. ;)

So alas, I am now one of those people with a "friend" who has a question . . . . . .

Here was the email they sent me:

Aine's birth certificate...can we send a copy, or does it have to be the orginal? And mine as well? We only have the one copy, that is why I ask, and I believe the directions ask for more than 1 copy. Also, her for I-745 (?) Request to work, do we include that form in the total package? (I-130, I-485) Or do we send that one someplace else?

I think he is asking about the I-765 and I-131.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

I-765 allows work while waiting for AOS, and I-131 allows travel while waiting for AOS.

Good place to start is the guides: and Example forms.

NOTE, if entry to the USA was with the INTENT to marry and Adjust this is considered visa fraud and can result in a denied AOS. There is a reason there is a K-1 visa. If USCIS allowed anyone to use a visitors visa in this way there would be no reason for the K-1. Visa fraud is taken quite seriously by Homeland Security (USCIS).

Moving this to the sub-forum dealing with AOS from Visitors/Work/Student visas.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.
